Guest guest
What a nice website. I would highly recommend the addition of www.autismone.com/radio and if you haven't been to this site yet...well, let's just say you are in for a real treat. Many of the big wigs in the Autism community present monthly radio shows. In fact, there are shows on almost any topic that you could want from IEP planning, school cooperation, IDEA, biomedical treatments (DAN), dental issues, alternative therapies, sensory integration, homeopathy, etc. My favorites are Betsy Hick's (nutrition), John Hick's (integrative medicine), Lena Garcia (holistic dentist from Mercola.com), Amy Lansky (homeopath and author of " An Impossible Cure " ), Judyth Ullman (Homeopath and author of multiple books including " Homeopathis Self- Care " and " Drug Free Aspeger's " and " ritalin Free Kids " ). There are current event shows, advocacy, Arabic and Spanish shows, etc. It is such a valuable resource! Also, to touch the heart string of anyone out there, there are 2 sites with music videos: www.frinkfest.org and www.tacanow.org. Two books I found invaluable were " Children with Starving Brains " and " A Mother's Guide to Raising Healthy Children Naturally. " From the former book, I began supplementing my son (who is nearly normalized a year+ later) on Coromega fish oil, Vit C, Kirman Lab's multi-vit w/o copper, B6 with Magnesium (again from Kirkman's - another link you should consider including), and DMG. I am currently pregnant, and even though my husband isn't 100% on-board with all the supplements, he insists that I take a fish oil supplement daily because of the implications for brain and nerveous system development. In fact, any " hyper " child should start with a high quality fish oil and B6 with Magnesium supplement...B12 is also a good option. Sorry to carry on, but I also believe parents need HOPE and there is EVERY reason to be hopeful!
