Guest guest
Hi, I was also told by my doctor to avoid the all the dairy products. Because it slows down the stomach and stomach takes time to digest these products. So definitely milk is not a good thing for ulcer. Thanks, -syed Ieneke van Houten <ienvan wrote: Born of Beltane (great name) wrote: my grandmother told me that milk and other dairy used to be used to line the stomach so that ulcers could heal.. very interesting... This was an old medical practice that has since been discredited. Doctors used to prescribe milk diets. I remember working in a long term care facility and having to bring this very grumpy stomach patient his mug of warm milk every other hour. The milk will indeed coat the stomach and give a brief relief, but then the stomach will produce extra acid in order to digest the milk. It is NOT a good idea. Cabbage juice, yes, chamomile tea, yes, milk, no! Ien in the Kootenays http://freegreenliving.com
Guest guest
Milk, in some people, tends to cause mucus which clogs digestion. Some others do quite welll with it.
