Due to my hypoglicemia i cannot eat regular food either.Ill have to stick to

Atkins diet for the rest of my life.I think we have to accept that.Once you

choose the best diet you have to follow it for the rest of your life. My husband

has gout and I have hypoglicemia.I feel happy that i found Atkins diet that

makes me slim, healthy and feeling great.

My mother and father and my brothers and sisters do not have any disease. They

can eat whatever they want. But because of my diet control and weight awareness

i m in much better body shape than them today. They are not physically fit as i

am. Sometimes i think that im lucky to have hypoglicemia because that disease

made more more carefull with what i eat.

My 13 years old daughter is pre diabetic.Because of that im teaching her to be

extra careful with sugar and carbohydrates and to exercise constantly.Since she

is 10, she is avoiding sugar and carbos. Probably because of that she has

perfect teeth, her sugar level is normal and she is in better body shape than

her healthy friends. Those friends are very healthy but as they do not stop

eating junk food, they are becaming obese.

Re: why people can eat regular food and feel great

Hi Melody,

I believe in: " All things in moderation. " I think it is very possible

to eat a variety of different foods - sugars and cooked foods included -

and still be healthy. The key is to not overdo anything. A piece of

chocolate every now and then isn't going to kill you. And chocolate is

now known to have very healthy properties. (Of course, the quality of

chocolate can be argued here, but that's for another thread. :) )

As long as you make wise choices in what you eat and how you eat, I

believe you can have a lot of variety in your foods.

great. For example my family is from Spain, they eat about 6 times a day

and do eat many healthy foods such as salads, fruits with every meal BUT

they do have deserts, wines, chocolate, etc...small amounts of course...

but do you(whomever wishes to respond) believe it is OK to have small

amounts of sugar daily or is that not a holistic way of eating? Also,

they (my family in Spain) do not eat only raw foods. They do eat meat,

potatoes, fish, etc...Just curious. I don't think I can do an all or

nothing approach so it's why I'm asking:O) Thank you:O)
