Guest guest
Can anyone tell me why many, many people can eat regular food and feel great. For example my family is from Spain, they eat about 6 times a day and do eat many healthy foods such as salads, fruits with every meal BUT they do have deserts, wines, chocolate, etc...small amounts of course... but do you(whomever wishes to respond) believe it is OK to have small amounts of sugar daily or is that not a holistic way of eating? Also, they (my family in Spain) do not eat only raw foods. They do eat meat, potatoes, fish, etc...Just curious. I don't think I can do an all or nothing approach so it's why I'm asking:O) Thank you:O) Melody Schafer melored

Guest guest
Hi Melody, I believe in: " All things in moderation. " I think it is very possible to eat a variety of different foods - sugars and cooked foods included - and still be healthy. The key is to not overdo anything. A piece of chocolate every now and then isn't going to kill you. And chocolate is now known to have very healthy properties. (Of course, the quality of chocolate can be argued here, but that's for another thread. ) As long as you make wise choices in what you eat and how you eat, I believe you can have a lot of variety in your foods. ~Regina , " Melody At Home " <melored wrote: > > Can anyone tell me why many, many people can eat regular food and feel great. Guest guest
I think the key to diet is eating a very wide variety of foods. Our bodies need a lot of different things to keep us working right and no one single food provides everything. Contrary to popular belief, fats are essential for good health, so are many other things that some people tend to say are bad. It is a matter of not overdoing it, everything in moderation but eating a wide variety. Some of these diets to lose weight singles out carbs, or fats , or puts you on strict protiens, common sense tells you that is the wrong approach. It is not what you eat, it is how much, that is the problem that causes a person overweight. Have you ever thought of how amazing it is that food can be prepaired so many different ways. You could eat something different every day of your life and never eat the exact same thing twice. There are hundreds of ways to prepare each single food ( potatoes for example). God put everything we need right within our reach. You diet is not what you eat over a period of a few days but over a period of months, if you rule out any food group you are only going to cause your self problems in the long run because we need them all but in moderation. , " Melody At Home " <melored wrote: > > Can anyone tell me why many, many people can eat regular food and feel great.
