My niece has an opportunity to land a pretty good job...if she can pass

the tinkle test. She's admitted to smoking pot recently. She was told

by a smoking friend to get a detox from the smoke shop. It's supposed

to work almost immediately, but only lasts for one day. That sounds to

me like it's just covering up..which I suppose is OK so she can land

the job. However, she also found out the company conducts random

tests. She hasn't said if she's going to quit smoking or not. I want

to help her stop and get clean. What can she do to detox? What if she

doesn't want to stop smoking? Is there something she can take to hide

it if she's called to do a random test?

Marijuana will stay detectable in the body with the test that they use for

15-30 days.

If your niece would wish to stop using marijuana ; there are programs such

as Marijuana Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous(deals with addiction not a

specific substance)

Blessings go to you.

What I've heard is grapefruit helps clear marijuana from the body...not sure

how much. I also heard that advil and marijuana show up the same in the blood?

Does anyone know if this is true? I suppose your daughter will quit only if she

wishes or wants to. It is good she can confide in you though:O) Good luck to

her:O)

If she merely enjoys the occasional toke in the

weekend, and is not otherwise dysfunctional,

how happy will she be in a job environment

like that? Perhaps she would be better off in

more relaxed surroundings?

Just a thought.

GNC has a product called super cleanse which works for cleaning the

system of all toxins, including illegal substances in about 3 days.

However, no detox is going to be effective if she is going to

continue to smoke. I would have a talk with her and encourage her to

stop smoking all together if this job is really important to her.

Should she land the job and then subsequently fired for a dirty urine

test, that blows any future reference she would receive from that

employer. The one day cover ups are not guaranteed and what usually

happens is they simply cloud the urine to the point that it cannot be

tested thereby casting suspicion in itself as to why a clouded urine

sample.

Hello,

The only way to clear MJ from the system is to get the herbal flush sold in

health food stores also Lemon juice but the key is to drink 1 about a gallon of

that tea and then take multivitamins so that your pee has a little color and

doesn't get totally clear. It does work I had to use it once. It is actually

really hard to drink that much but worth it to get the task done.

Personally with the new studies on pot I wouldn't be worried about a little

recreational use, it is supposed to insulate the cell wall against cancer!!

Be well. be happy

When I read stuff like this it really burns me up. Her daughter's

marijuana use is a lifestyle choice, not an addiction! Marijuana IS

NOT a physically addictive drug! It can be psychologically addictive,

where the person uses the herb constantly to change their unpleasant

reality. This requires psychological therapy, NOT joining a group of

addicts with addictive personalities.

If she is an occasional user, any type of system flush will work to

reduce the THC levels in her blood. What most employers are looking

for is elevated levels of THC indicating overexposure to marijuana.

So she has a choice to make - Is the monetary gain from employment

with this company worth giving up things that she enjoys in her

private time? If it is, she needs to stop using. If she can't, she

needs to seek out mental therapy to remove the need for escape from

reality.

As her parent you need to realize that with the current invasion of

personal privacy going on in this country, her refusal to quit in

order to work for that company may be more of rebellion than an addiction.

Don't fall into the government propoganda demonizing marijuana. As a

former DEA agent I can tell you without question that it is nothing

more than a way for the government to fleece the public with the

purported 'War on Drugs'.

You should be more concerned with her alchohol use, or her use of

precription drugs, both of which that company probably DOES NOT test for.

Good Luck!

What she can do is eat a lot of Sesame Seed Paste Plain called Tahini.

Then if she is THC-postive just explain its from the Sesame Seeds.

Sesame Seeds test positive for THC because they are Cannabis's cousin.

Advil (and all ibuprophen drugs) actually show up as

Demerol/Morphine in the tests. But you have to consume really large

amounts for it to stay with you if the test isn't within a week.

Also, poppy seeds sprinkled on top of the average muffin will make

you test positive for opium...they come from the same flower.

As far as marijuana goes, most of the stuff that would flush it from

her system is also tested for, so avoid any suggestion of using

goldenseal. I've always heard drinking a ton of water just prior to

the test works, but when they do the tests they have to note the

color of the urine too. My husband used to have fun with the urine

test people by taking methalene blue. It turns your urine a bright

blue to green color. :)

Sorry I can't help anymore...but then again, why would she want to

work for someone that wants to play with her pee?

A lot of the tests now detect tampering. I would also advise

caustion in using detox herbs drinks etc,,, these can wear on the

body they are not only depleating the drug but nutrients and things

the body needs. The best way to not test positive is to not use. If

your friend cannot go 30 days with out the drug there may be more

there than a way to unwind and relax.

Thanks everyone for your input/advice.

I'm not the parent, she's my niece and she felt she could ask me

about this issue...not really sure why, but I'm here to help if I

can.

Yes, it burns me up too that an employer can be so invasive.

And I agree...who wants to work for a company that wants to check

your pee? I think they could pay better wages and skip the expense

of the random tests. I also agree with the person that said

something about, " How happy can she be in a work environment like

that? " And I agree that it's not addictive, it is a mental addiction

if anything. I myself think it would be too stressful to work for a

company where I have to worry every day if I'm going to be called

upon to pee in a cup. All she's going to be doing is answer a phone,

not drive a big rig or work with power tools. She only smokes at

home after work and on weekends. It's really none of their business

what she does in her own time. There are so many other issues that

employers don't/can't test for that can be a whole lot worse than a

pot head! For instance, what about a disgruntled worker that gets

fired and comes back with a gun? Or how about checking for bad

relationships...you know the ones where they guy comes in a shoots up

the place when the woman dumps him?

I investigated the ingredients of the $40 detox drink that they sell

at the smoke shops. It's mainly water. The rest is sugar or stevia

and some B2. According to another website, MJ is fat soluable and

stored in your liver. So, you drink that stuff and what it does is

send your body into a serious insulation overload. So, the liver

goes into gear to dump all of the fat and sugar. The B2 is to make

the pee the right color to pass the test.

Oh I love the idea of messing with the color and have it come out

blue!
