Guest guest
I can't say that this will work for everyone, but my husband was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, along with rheumatoid arthritis. After a couple years of major drugs that cost $1000 a month and made him sicker, we did the following: 1. Eat organic 2. Watch for food triggers and eliminate those foods -- we found that non-organic chicken made him sick almost immediately once he'd been eating organic for a while. 3. Reflexology once a month 4. Massage once a month 5. Vitamin supplements -- which I can't remember off the top of my head now. I know liver support is important. 6. 2 or 3 day detox when things get bad. He got off all of the major medications and only takes Ibuprofen on rare occasions now. When he starts to flare, we get really strict on the organic foods and massage, and he usually gets better quickly. We haven't gotten to the point of reversing it, but we keep it at bay at least as well as the expensive, deadly drugs did. Martha You kno, i didn't know you could hav arthritis with this. My four year old who has psorisis of the nails also complains of pain in his joints, especially knees and hips. I chalked it up to growing pains, but what if it is something different. He especially complains when he first wakes up that his feet hurt, but I'm not sure if he means his knees or not(he IS only 4 LOL). I would appreciate some more info on this please. Iwill check out the websites, but does anyone have any suggestions about treatment? Now he is on some very harsh meds and IV's for the psoriatic arthritis. I'd also like to know about what he can do alternatively before the meds end up killing him. He says without it his joints and especially feet and hands are in so much pain he can not function. He doesn't look good to me. I'm very worried. He is only 48. > Melody Schafer melored
Guest guest
Martha, that sounds fantastic. I will relay this message to him but do you know if there are any books on this particular problem? I'm trying to find one for him to read so he will at least think about getting the meds. You are right...he said it was about $1000 a month...the insurance only pays like $600 so he has to come up with $400 a month! yikes....that is a lot of money, especially for him. Guest guest
Martha, I want to say some thing I know quite well. Meat, Milk, Eggs and Fish (also worries) aggravate Psoriasis. Avoid meat and milk completely. Egg & Fish only one meal per week if he really cannot resists. Avoid any type of milk even Coconut. After 10 days you would see the difference.
