Guest guest
I have a Maltese that has coughing spells. In his case, I don't think it's a cold. I use virgin coconut oil. I give him between a teaspoon and a tablespoon. I don't really measure. He loves it. He'll eat it off the spoon and other times, I'll melt it and add it to his food. He'll stop coughing immediately. I try to add some to his food weekly. If I do this, he will not get the coughing spells. Guest guest
She didn't catch it from humans. Put some grapeseed extract in her water bowl, 2 drops per ounce. If it doesn't get better after a couple of days she needs to see the vet. Kadee Sedtal Build a man a fire and he'll stay warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll stay warm the rest of his life. Guest guest
I looked in my book Homeopathic Care for Cats and Dogs by Don Hamilton. If dogs energy is good and condition seems mild he suggests Vitamin C (5-10 mg/lb, two or three times a day) and vitamin E (3-5 mg/lb, once a day). Did you have the dog in the kennel over recent holiday? Aconite is a remedy that kennel cough may respond to. Good luck...Liz , " simiriotou " <sophiaef wrote: > > Hello Everyone, > > I have a 6 year old pom with a cough. Seems like a cold because all > the humans are coughing she has picked up the cold. Guest guest
Could be an allergic reaction to the environment. You may want to put a small amount of powder MSM (maybe 1/4 tsp or so) in her daily drinking water. MSM is natural sulfur and recommended by Dr. Earl Mindell, author od the Herb Bible and other related wellness books. Guest guest
Hello, It sounds like kennel cough. My dog got it a while back, homeopathic remedy: Drosera The health food stored carry B & T Childrens Cough and bronchial syrup that contains drosera and some other stuff. It really helped him. I thought he was going to die, but it sounds really bad worse then it probably is. The hardest part is not sleeping for 3 or nights while the baby coughs all night. This stuff will help. Guest guest
Dogs do not pick up cold from humans, neither do humans pick it up from dogs. Cold is non-transmittable between humans and animals. My suggestion would be to take the dog to the vet, and make sure she doesn't have a kennel cough. If she does, I'd say, give her antibiotics vet prescribes. If it's an allergy, just drop a message to this board, and people might be able to help you. You just really need to know what kind of cough it is. Larissa , " simiriotou " <sophiaef wrote: > > Hello Everyone, > > I have a 6 year old pom with a cough. You may need to travel a bit more than when looking for a " traditional " vet. Guest guest
Just as a suggestion, people need to understand how low a dog is to the surface of the floor, if one has a carpet, or rug, that should be taken care of more often (swept or vacuumed), just realize what that poor pup is breathing every time they follow there leader through a room. OR crawl under a bed to nap, the dust bunnies are ferocious in the dark. Guest guest
I'm not caught up to posts so this may have already been addressed? but have you ruled out the usual suspects of kennel cough or parvo?
