Hi,

My husband started having some very severe attacks of stomach pain in June.

They were especially bad during the night when his stomach got empty. It got so

bad he finally gave in and went to urgent care on a Saturday. That doctor told

him it was most likely an ulcer and recommended using an over-the-counter acid

blocker and seeing his regular doctor on Monday.

I started searching for alternative ulcer treatments and got him to start

taking Chewable DGL tablets before meals. Cabbage juice is also believed to

help heal stomach ulcers, but he does not like vegetables much, especially raw

ones. He loves Ice cream, though, so I started making him smoothies containing

raw cabbage, yogurt with live cultures, frozen fruit and ice cubes blended in

the vita-mix until it was like a soft-serve Ice cream. I froze any leftovers

into " popsicles " in paper cups. He started feeling better in about 3 days, and

quit taking the acid blockers after a week or two. He took the DGL for several

months. He found that he likes the smoothies and popsicles enough to keep on

eating them even though he no longer has symptoms of ulcers. YEAH! a painless

way to get him to eat his veggies.

From what I read, the DGL must be a CHEWABLE tablet or wafer, as it must be

mixed with your saliva in order to be of benefit in ulcer treatment.

You can read more about DGL here:

(from a site that is not selling it)

Hope this helps,

Minnie
