Hi,

My wife has this problem of irregular menstrual cycle and whenever these start,

bleeding does not stop for 30days.She feels weakness. Cycle starts every 15 days

or 20 days but does last for 30 days or more.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

could she be starting menopause? some women start this in there 30's and

continue on for years. my mother had this problem and researched different herbs

to help. the thing is all herb dont work the same on everyone and it is a trial

and error type thing. see what doesnt work and try other things, then stick

with the one that works. I am thinking red clover is what worked for my mom but

cant be sure.

Perimenopause can start as early as 20 yrs of age. And you're right, Lisa, herbs

don't work the same way on everyone. Since I still haven't unearthed my books

yet, I'll have to do a web search some time this week. Sorry but my work

schedule is playing the dickens with things right now.

That sounds very serious - if it isn't a abnormal hormone problem,

it could be a physical problem and you really should get your wife

to a good GYN medical doctor to determine what is causing this

constant bleeding. When I was younger, I had a similar problem, but

not as severe. I got periods that lasted nearly 2 weeks, were very

heavy and I would get another one less than two or three weeks

later. Not a normal cycle at all. It was a hormone inbalance, so the

cure to it was a low dosage birth control pill and I also had to

step up my iron supplements - due to the excessive bleeding, I was

borderline amnemic. I wouldn't wait for that problem to keep

occuring. Go get some medical intervention ASAP, because if it's

something other than hormones, the earlier you know about it, the

better off a treatment or cure will be.

Either way your wife can and should get relief from this because -

if you think it's frustrating for you... imagine how she must feel.

Better to know why it's happening and get a remedy, than waiting any

longer.

She is 25. So I am not sure she will be in menopause.

In addition to the possibility of this being " natural " it is far more likely

to be caused by exposure Organophosphate or Organochlorine chemicals in her

environment. These chemicals can bind to estrogen receptors in the body and

cause all kinds of bizarre symptoms in women as well as men. This cycle

could also have begun with her mother who may have been exposed to DDT

(which would have been in common use during the time of her pregnancy) or

may have even taken the drug DES. Either of these compounds were once very

common and are known to produce these sorts of effects in the offspring as

they approach their 30s.

These so-called " Xeno Estrogens " are also considered to be a prime factor in

the increased number of girls born with two uteri, testicular cancer in

young boys and even the three legged frogs hopping around the swamps of

Florida.

I have found that Red Clover can provide short term relief from some of the

secondary symptoms she may be experiencing and a couple of the GYN's I work

with are now recommending high-quality Wild Yam (containing Dioscorea

Opposita) supplements and high-quality glyconutrient supplements to their

patients with similar issues. The results can take a while, but over time

(months) we regularly see people move towards " normal. " The great thing is

that these are non-toxic nutrients the body should be getting from diet

anyway so the upside compared to toxic drugs and less-toxic (though

effective) herbals is enormous.

Note: Irregular bleeding is also a sign of cervical cancer so be sure to

rule that out!

Karolina, I'm like you and was like that since I was 13...when I was 18 I got

on birth control and thank God it straightened me out. I tried going off of it

and whenever I tried I'd also have my period for 2 weeks straight...then not for

2 weeks..then start all over again. What a pain that was.

I am 31 and had the same or similar problems. It turned out that I had severe

endometriosis that required surgery. I hope that this is not the case for your

family member, but do not ignore the possibility. Pain with menstruation and

sexual intercourse are additional symptoms. A pelvic ultrasound will show

" adhesions " which could and may end up being endometriosis. Hope that this is

not the case, but don't rule out the possibility.

" if it isn't a abnormal hormone problem, it could be a physical

problem hormone inbalance, so the cure to it was a low dosage birth

control pill "

A few years ago I had similar problems begin. I'm 45. For the first

time in my life I had to go home from work to shower and change

clothes. I stood up and it felt like my entire uterus had dumped out

of me. Even with being on " the pill " my cycle is unpredictible. It

comes and goes on time, but it can be extremely heavy. I also have

to wear panty liners for the first time in my life and it lasts 7-9

days. I also had horrible pimples that wouldn't pop they looked like

boils and they would for a month or more. It took me two years to

figure out what part of my problem was. 1. Planned Parenthood had

switched my pill (several times) and gave me the wrong dosage. 2. I

was pre-menopause!

I tried to discuss the whole thing with PP at my annual, but all you

get there is a NP not a DR. She told me she " thinks " I had (at the

time) a bacteria and she tossed two bottles of antibiotics at me, one

for me one for hubby. I refused them because she didn't know for

sure and I hate taking any abx unless I absolutely have to.

One of these days I am going to a " real " GYN to let them take a peek

inside. I was told years ago that I have endometrosis (sp?). Both

of my sisters have had it and both had their " parts " removed. I

prefer to keep mine right where they are.

" if you think it's frustrating for you... imagine how she must feel. "

You got that right! It sucks. It always has. I wish I could trade

places with my husband for just one month and let HIM be the female.

I swear in our next incarnation I get to be the male and he can be

the female!

I have this same problem, as near as I can tell. I went to six

different doctors, it ended up being an estrogen/progestrone over load.

I was put on Yasmin birth control pills which did help greatly. But my

husband lost his job and we lost our insurance so the clinic I went to

put my on other pills which raised my blood pressure to stroke level...

needless to say, I quit them. I can't afford the Yasmin, which did not

raise my blood pressure. I now take Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) and

Chaste Tree fruit (Vitex agnus castus) which helps somewhat. I get them

at GNC and they are $15 and $10 a bottle for 100 capsules each bottle.

They usually have a sale buy one get one half off. I take one of each

in the morning and one of each at night. So far no side effects but it

does take a few days to slow the flow down. They are not the best

solution I'm sure and I'm still looking for a natural way to fully

correct this problem. I am much older than your wife so I am thinking

of a hysterectomy, but really do not want to go that route. (my mom had

the same problem and had to go that way).

This is not a good problem to have since it can raise the chances of

cervical cancer. I hope the best for her and you and hope you find

something that works for ya'all.

take care

My mother was having that problem and found out she has cysts on her ovaries or

uterus and is now havingsurgery to get them removed as they may be cancerous.

They say any woman over 45 is at risk for polyps so get checked asap.
