Mannitol for Bladder Infection in Cats?

I don't know where to get Mannitol, but

there is simple way to figure out the dosage

for a cat, or any other animal.

It is called Clark's rule.

Take 150 pounds as the average adult weight.

Divide that number by the weight of your animal.

Using a 30 pound dog as an example: 150:30 is 5.

So giving the dog one unit is like giving 5 to a grown

human..

When I worked at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, we had a cat named Frankie in

our offices that got bladder infections frequently. The vet told us this was

because he was not processing the urine properly and had urine crystals building

up in his urinary tract.

we avoided this was by giving him Urinary Tract Diet Cat food( IAMS or Science

Diet have a good one). When we didn't give this to him, he would get an

infection.

I would try giving the cat the Urinary Tract food and see if this makes a

difference and get him to a vet immediately. There is a special med the vet

gives for this. Your cat can die from this issue.

Mannitol is known for treating ADD in children. Not made for cats or dogs.

Mannitol works wonders for cats and dogs! I use it on my dog who has cancer and

you would NEVER be able to tell she does! Mannitol has many, many uses and our

animal friends can greatly benefit from it!
