New Mexico Elects New Attorney General Dr. Gary King; Concerns for

Consumer Protection and Aspartame; Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock

releases new CD, The Truth About Aspartame; new website:

TEXT OF PRESS RELEASE:

Santa Fe, New Mexico 11/14/ 2006

Consumer Protection oriented progressives should be heartened by the

recent advances in the US Senate and Congress, thanks to briliiant

efforts by Howard Dean, M.D., and in New Mexico, with the election of

Dr. Gary King as Attorney General. This is good news for consumers in

every state and nation. Aspartame is metabolized as methanol, which

becomes formaldehyde, and two unessential amino acids, phenylalanine

and aspartic acid. Prominent physicians like Dr. Blaylock and Dr.

H.J. Roberts have recognized the similarities between aspartame

causing neurodegenerative illnesse, and tobacco causing emphysema and

lung cancer.

King has a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of

Colorado at Boulder, and law degree from the University of New

Mexico. He facilitated the writing of New Mexico Senate Bill 654, to

ban Aspartame in New Mexico, posted on the New Mexico Legislature

website, replicable in any state or nation's legislature.

For media inquiries, Dr. King is at (505) 832-4461 and New Mexico

Attorney General's office, (505) 827-6000.

Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock's CD, The Truth about Aspartame, will

be invaluable in educating NM legislators before the 2007 Legislature

convenes about New Mexico's imperative to rescind its approval of

this artificial sweetener, while the FDA ponders whether to protect

consumers from damage by aspartame, or to continue to capitulate to

corporate demands to keep aspartame on the market.

Aspartame is used in over 6000 products and more than 500

medications. In his new CD, Neurosurgeon Blaylock lectures about

connections between the use of aspartame and a number of medical

disorders, including multiple sclerosis, brain and other types of

tumors, confusion, visual problems and weight gain, and as to just

how such a dangerous product was ever approved for human use by the

FDA. Dr. Blaylock outlines for us practical ways in which we can

treat this resulting damage.

Google his regimen: What to do if you have used Aspartame.

Blaylock's Nutrition and Behavior digital video disc sells for $20.00

plus postage and the new CD is $15.00 plus $4.00 postage, payable to

Press release regarding 20 New Mexico Legislators in the Health and

Education Committees who have asked President Bush and FDA

Commissioner nominee, Andrew Von Eschenbach, M.D., to rescind the

approval for Aspartame:

This press release contains the complete text of the United Kingdom

Parliament Early Day Motion by Roger Williams, MP from Radnorshire,

Wales, signed by 46 members of the UK Parliament asking for a

complete ban on aspartame throughout the United Kingdom.

Thus far, President Bush and Dr. Von Eschenbach have not yet replied

to the New Mexico Legislators' request, and the onus then shifts to

the United States Senate in its process of confirming Dr. Von

Eschenbach, as well as convening a U.S. Senate Health Committee

hearing into the history of aspartame's approval and the medical

imperative for Aspartame, Splenda/Sucralose, and Saccharin to be

removed from sale in the United States.

Aspartame is manufactured by Ajinomoto of Japan and the Merisant

Corporation of Chicago.

Splenda/Sucralose is made by Johnson and Johnson.

Saccharin is made by Monsanto, the Missouri corporation that also

manufactured DDT, Agent Orange, the defoliant used in Vietnam, and

the Terminator system of seed propagation and genetics, which they

have used to take over the Brazilian soybean production, by signing

an agreement with the Vice President of Brazil when the President of

Brazil was in Cuba visiting Castro, and have also used in India with

disastrous results when the Monsanto cotton pollen blew into

adjoining fields from the experimental fields, and scores of cotton

growers in India then committed suicide.

Victims of aspartame poisoning and their physicians should write to

their United States Senators to ask them to not only require Dr. Von

Eschenbach to agree to remove aspartame from production in the USA,

as has already occurred in the Netherlands, but to convene a United

States Senate Health Committee series of hearings into the history of

Aspartame and the obvious medical imperative to remove it from sale

in all nations.

In 1985, several US Senators voted to require labeling of the

quantity of Aspartame present: Senators Rockefeller and Byrd of West

Virginia, Senators Kennedy and Kerry of Massachusetts, Senator Dodd

of Connecticutt, Senator Sarbanes of Maryland, Senator Specter of

Pennsylvania, Senator Lautenberg of New Jersey, and Senator Harkin of

Iowa. The effort, however, was defeated by Utah Senator Orrin Hatch.

All of these Senators have been requested to ask Senator Michael Enzi

of Wyoming, Chairman of the Senate Health committee, to schedule

hearings on the history of Aspartame's approval, and the imperative

for the United States Senate to rescind its approval in 2006/2007.

____

Senator Gerald Ortiz y Pino's 2007 Aspartame ban legislation will

contain an appropriation for the New Mexico Attorney General to

enforce the ban. The identical 2006 legislation was tabled in Public

Affairs Committee, due to the efforts by lobbyists from Coca Cola,

Pepsi Cola, Ajinomoto (a Japanese corporation, world's largest

manufacturer of Aspartame and Monosodium Glutamate), Calorie Control

Council, and Altria Corporate Services/Phillip Morris/Kraft.
