Guest guest
Hi.. This is what I have used for the symptoms you have for severe stomach problems. Digest Gold a Digestive Enzyme. Daily Dophilus(this is an AM /PM complete probiotic system Gas in the intestinal tract is caused by poor digestion, maybe from too many processed foods, poor combination of foods, not chewing properly, etc. You really need to look at your diet with this situation. I got off all processed food, all dairy, no sugar. I am not saying this is correct , but it helped me. I tried process of elimination to see what helped me. I also went off any spicy foods. Gaseze is a wonderful produce to help relieve gas.I believe this is by Dr. Christoper Gas is another one by Hylands. (This is homeopathic for natural relief from gas and upset stomach. Fennel Tea for gas If I think of anything else, I will post. Good luck to you. Diane

Guest guest
I HIGHLY recomend a book by Brenda Watson called " renew your life " ISBN-10: 0971930902 This book describes in plain language how to fix digestive problems. It has to do with antibiotics killing off the good bacteria called acidophilus, Thus letting the candida flourish, and the candida interferes with digestive enzimes wich leads to maldigestion, causing pain, and all sorts of bowel problems. This book is about $15 and will save you a world of hurt. For ANYONE that has EVER taken antibiotics, the side effects will manifest (in time) in some type of digestive problem, such as hartburn, acid reflux, IBS Chrons, bowel cancer, vaginal yeast. Good digestion is such an important fundimental body function yet it is so often overlooked. poor digestion can cause such a host of terrible problems. Even for thoes of you that don't think you have a digestive problem I think it is worth the $15 to get an understanding of how your digestion functions. The sad part is that many are on the road to big problems with acid blockers that can compound the bad digestion, but big pharma makes billions on selling pills that don't fix the problem, only mask the symptoms. Guest guest
Some ot the symtoms you are describing sounds like you have irritable bowel syndrome or sometimes called IBS or sometimes called spastic colon. It usually happens as very bad pain right below the ribs. It is an inflamitory condition on the large intestine. You will usually have very sharp pains that almost double you over followed by diarrhea and gas. An attack is very painful. There are two things you need to know that will help to control it. 1. Do not eat raw vegtables, especially lettuce, raw onions, raw fruits such as apples and that kind of thing. These are hard to digest and can set off an attack. 2. Take Metamucil (this is a brand name) every day. It contains psillium which is a soluable fiber and calms the inflamation. There are other over the counter products that contain psillium if you can't get the brand Metamucil. Here is a link that describes the condition more fully and it's treatments. Good luck. http://www.ibsregister.com/ibs_symptoms.htm Aubrey - > > Hi dears, > > > > It's amazing to find a group that really helps people in avoiding > > many troubles in life. Guest guest
I have learned a lot since joining this group and I thank all who have told me about the different things to do for my digestive/stomach problems, the Aloe Vera I will try as soon as I find some. I cannot take Metamucil because the Psillium tends to make more gas and more stomach pain and no bowel movement for a few days. I like to drink Citrucel it has Methylcellulose(a non-allergenic fiber)the one I have is orange flavor powder and you can get it with no flavor to add to your juices or water. Drinking this does not hurt my stomach and there is no extra gas produced and I have a bowel movement whithin a few hours or at the end of the day. IBS tends to run in some families. I also have pain under my ribs from stress or after eating some food that doesn't digest well, the pain is terrible and I assume it is gas from undigested food and take some Gas X tablets or other Gas Relieving pills just to get some relief from the pain. I can always tell if I am going to have some pain there. While sleeping in bed, and I turn to my right and then I will have the sharp pain and I have learned to hold my hand on that spot that is hurting and so I can sit up and hold the pain so it won't hurt as bad while I am sitting up, this works too. I hope this information helps. Carolyn
Guest guest
My dear Sir, Your symptoms show that you are suffering from acidity.. There is hydrochloric acid generated in the stomach to digest the food.. There will be excess of this acid and that is why you are having stomach ache.. You can take digene or gelucil and drink one bottle of concentarated lime juice called shikanja in hindi..Dont take junk food..Take good quality food from outside and home.. Keep timings..Drink water mildly.. I am not sure about this case..You can try one therapy.. drink two bottles of drinking water put two fingers inside the moth and vomit the thing in stomach.. This will cleanse the stomach.. Try it out .. Guest guest
You can also be dealing with Gall Bladder issues when you get the pain under the ribs after eating. Gall stones are painful and it will sometimes feel like someone is squeezing your insides. It will also feel like gas pains. I would do a cleanse using Hulda Clarks cleanses for Gall Bladder. For stomache acid, take a tbls of Apple Cider Vinager upon rising and before going to bed. This will balance the acid in the stomache. An excellent source of both soluable and insoluable fiber (which are necessary for effective cleansing) is called LiFiber by Unicity. Yes it has Psyllium Hulls which DO NOT cause gas, but work as a scrub brush to the intestine. The gas comes from pockets of putrified fecal matter that are being moved. If no bowel movement happens you are not getting enough liquid in the diet to make the fiber work better. You need to be drinking at least a gallon of water daily no matter what. Make sure you have muscle tested the water you are drinking, to ensure the tension in the water is appropriate for your body's best absorption. Many people quit using a fiber source as it causes gas...or so they blame it on that. It is actually the bowels starting to work properly again and will go away when the bowels are clean and working properly. Unlike Metamucile and Citrucel...which you can become dependent on, this product works to correct bowel conditions which caused the issue in the first place. IBS can be caused by something as simple as a food allergy! Jenny Kernan Biofeedback Therapist www.quantumassociatesofutah.com
Guest guest
try very hard not to take gas x type of relief, as over time it can have horrendous consequences to the necessary acidity of a healthy stomach and then your system has a very hard time digesting food! talk about pain! btw, have you tried having a colonic? and are you following a gluten free diet? i know this didn't start out about you, but the cramps and the gas pains...those are quick solutions that you'll fee within a week a major pivotal turnaround. just some friendly food for thought! , " ladycawn " <cwn3427 wrote: > > I have learned a lot since joining this group and I thank all who > have told me about the different things to do for my > digestive/stomach problems, the Aloe Vera I will try as soon as I > find some. > > I cannot take Metamucil because the Psillium tends to make more gas > and more stomach pain and no bowel movement for a few days. > > I like to drink Citrucel it has Methylcellulose(a non-allergenic > fiber)the one I have is orange flavor powder and you can get it with > no flavor to add to your juices or water. Guest guest
you probably have candidaisis as well. Digestive enzymes are the newer, nore effective treatment. Actizyme is very good and not expensive ($15), there are specialised forms for candida, but tend to be about $40-50. Don't take any with HCL as it is too much acid. I'm guessing you are blood type O as most of my clients with these problems are, but not all. Generally you'll want to aviod coffee, gluten, and sugars. After a week or two on enzymes you can begin restoring the good bacteria. You can read more on our site www.icuhealthy.com . It is still a new site but we are adding to it daily. BTW, I'm looking for good contributions for the site if anyone has one. You'll be credited for your contribution. Thanks for the tip on methylcellulose, sounds like a good approach. i was suspecting psyllium to cause more gas and bloating and you've confirmed it. peace matt Rev. Matthew M. Guest guest
I have two questions about IBS, acid reflux, and digestive disorders in general. First, Am I niave but don't we as a society have serious problems with obesity right now? I don't remember my father having these digestive issues until he became overweight. I don't know a single person who is at a healthy weight that has these issues, and if there is a huge amount of healthy weight people becoming sick with digestive disorders then we should be crying out that something is seriously wrong with our environment-it just doesn't make sense.I know it's a struggle and with larger portions and so much high fructose corn syrup (In EVERYTHING-even whole wheat breads now!) but why do holistic practicioners and doctors insist on treating the symptoms rather than the cause? I also know that the way our meat is farmed is terribly unhealthy now, and mass food production is a major concern-the conditions in which we acquire our fruits and vegetables, which is another reason to question the rise of " digestive " disorders. Just curious-any thoughts on these two points?
Guest guest
Hi, I do agree with you, we are putting so many chemicals in and on our bodies - a lot of meat is now full of anti biotics, hormones ect, there are a LOT of additives and preservatives in all sorts of foods now & also a lot of nasty chemicals in our skin, Hair and cosmetics these are all causing huge problems in all area's of our health. I do my best to educate. Guest guest
My wife used to have IBS. I have taken her to the emergency room several times when she had attacks (before I started studying alternative medicine and really begin to understand the problem) so it was very severe. She started a diet called Weighdown (by Gwen Shamblin) which teaches to listen to your body, most people eat when they are not hungry out of bordom. This is called head hunger. This is not a diet but a way of life and has made a tremendious difference for her. You also cut the food you have been eating in half and eat smaller portions but you never miss a meal or go hungry. You do not deny yourself any food but you can eat anything you like, just smaller amounts and only when you are really hungry. You never eat just because it is meal time if you are not truly hungry. She has been doing this for well over 6 years and has gradually lost 40 pounds and has kept it off the entire 6 years. Her IBS has totally disappeared ever since starting this diet, not one attack in 6 years. It used to be at least 1 or 2 a month. I do believe that overeating has quiet a bit to do with it. She still eats the same things but about 1/2 or less than before and her stomach has adjusted to it and now she cannot eat more than her usual 1/2 without becoming overly full and miserable because her stomach has shrunk. She is 46 and looks to be 30. Guest guest
Someone asked on feedback regarding obesity induced digestive issues and hwp digestive orders. i've actually always been very fit, not overweight by anymore than 5 pounds at a given time, i'm 33 and i had a slew of digestive issues that i've worked through mostly. and yes hormones/antibiotics in our meats, birth control pills, a medicated driven society, and increased chemicals are to blame. one of my main issues however was that i was celiac never realizing it until recently. once i kicked out the gluten (which even if you're not sensitive - if you're experiencing digestive issues just leave it out. you're better off!) i began to feel instantaneously better. however b/c of all of the other stuff i coupled with celiac and eating gluten and candida (thank you to years of antibiotics!) i had serious gas pains and cramps since i was at least twelve and i took gas x........that erased my stomach acidity and in the long term, the digestive enzymes to digest properly. i am working on that, but again, 110 - 115 pounds and 5'2 " muscular woman who practices yoga daily, runs a couple of times a week and is otherwise active. so, yes, obesity is endemic for our country and it leads to a myriad chronic diseases, increased health care costs, tragic early deaths that no family needs to experience. but so is alcoholism. most people in our country drink excessively beginning in college. alcohol breaks down into methanol and formaldyhyde in your body........toxic........system freezes and your body's signals don't correlate and of course digestion is affected. if the brain is effected so is the body! then there is aspartame! it's as bad as msg and canola oil. all of these things, despite your weight (although go off of aspartame and you'll lose weight fast!) are affecting a large number of americans' digestive tracts....so, yes, losing weight is a big one, but so is nurturing food systems around our country that provide affordable organic whose nutrients replenish exponentially more than conventional food. if you can support organic you will eat less in the end because your body is satisfied. good for us, the body is terribly forgiving. so, my two cents for what it is worth. Guest guest
I would take 2 capsules of golden seal 3 times a day to get rid of the constipation. I would imagine that your stomach is not receiving enough digestive bile to digest the food which causes cramps, pain and gas. You need bitter herbs to start the digestive juices flowing preferably with the taste on your tongue which is where digestion starts. Take one of the capsules of golden seal opened and placed on the tongue each time that you take them. Follow with water or apple juice. ( Do not take tablets as they do not digest and usually pass right through without benefit to the body.) Golden seal also heals ulcers if that is the case. (Tinctures of golden seal will work better but it is up to you as to what is convenient to carry with you. Tinctures need to be taken 3 times a day in a dose of 1 tablespoon each time.) You can also take fennel and wild yam in tincture or capsule form to start the gall bladder releasing bile to the stomach. This combination will also clean the digestive tract by pushing all the stuff through the intestines by the action of the bile flowing. I would also drink a lot of chamomile and peppermint and althea tea to ease the pain and gas. It is very beneficial in all cases of stomach problems. ( Althea is commonly called marsmallow but is not the confection also called marshmallow.) It is a mucilage that will coat the stomach and intestinal walls and offer protection till the intestinal tract is healed. Yogurt made from live cultures would be very good for you, unsweetened and plain. Also very ripe bananas and pure apple juice. Do not take antacids in any form. They stop the digestive action that stomach acids perform. After awhile the body will stop producing the acid needed to digest the food and then a lot of really painful conditions will arise because the food is not being digested. Thereafter your stomach and intestines become a garbage dump of undigested food that cannot move out and can only rot and produce gas. Sorry I have taken so long to send this. I have had family here for Christmas and have been very busy. Peace, Thyme
