Guest guest
Hi... I'm not sure if this is something to worry about. But I often experience headaches when I wake up in the morning and even after only taking a nap in the afternoon. Does this mean I am over sleeping or something to that effect? I sometimes get migraines but mefenamic acid can easily cure them. However, I don't like popping pills...
Guest guest
Hello- I'm just wondering...do you have a TMJ problem...if your are a tooth grinder/gnasher (and most often people do this in their sleep) you could defintely be experiencing headaches upon arising from this. I have TMJ and I wear a TMJ appliance at night(like a retainer) which prevents me from grinding...if I don't wear it I can really feel the difference. I have often woken up with headaches. Their is nothing worse than starting your day off with a migraine! Maybe you should see your dentist....just a suggestion! Good luck- Alison , " mgvisco " <mgvisco wrote: > > Hi... Sleep apnea is bad for your heart (because it strains it) and you could conceivably not wake up some morning simply because you weren't breathing. Google it. Then decide if it's worth checking out for you. ....geminiwalker
Guest guest
Try changing pillow. If U R using fiber pillow change it to sponge/foam pillow. Fibre pillows use formaldehyde during manufacturing, & known to be V. toxic. ============================= mgvisco wrote: > Hi... I'm not sure if this is something to worry about. Guest guest
Could be something environmental in your home that is causing this, best way to find out is to either spend a couple nights at a relatives home or check into hotel atleast 2 nights to find out. Also could be from bad blood circulation in your head laying down. Unfortunately you may need to resort to some kind of supplement to alleviate this. Some years ago I had to take a prescription for migraines I was getting after ending up in the emergency room it had got so bad. Prescription was getting expensive so I went searching for an alternative natural relief. I started out taking regular doses of Ginkgo Biloba until headache went away, now I only need to take it when one comes upon me which is only about once every couple months. Found that this also slowed the frequency of them. Good Luck, Myk , " mgvisco " <mgvisco wrote: > > Hi... I'm not sure if this is something to worry about. Guest guest
mgvisco: Have you checked into the possibility of your having sleep apnea? If you live alone (sleep alone - lol) this often goes unnoticed and will cause headaches upon awakening from a lack of oxygen. A sleep study would be advised. It can be life-threatening if not discovered and treated. Snoring, dry mouth, racing heart, irregular heartbeat and a " general feeling of panic " upon awaking would be other indications. Worth looking into! Guest guest
about five years ago i suddenly realized i would go to sleep just fine and awake with headaches and a little swelling of the face and general allergy symptoms. Finally i realized it was the down! i researched and tried to see if down is safeguarded with a spray on flame retardant like our cotton but found no answers. seeing as i developed a chemical sensitivity to petroleum, like a lot of people out there, i threw it all out and finally began sleeping and awaking just fine. check out your bed. is the mattress new? it will offgas if it is and that will cause headaches. really look at your surroundings. does not sound like it is inside you. namaste! , " helen_1947_slaughter " <helen_1947_slaughter wrote: > > mgvisco: Have you checked into the possibility of your having sleep > apnea? Guest guest
My BF used tosuffer from the same... not sure of a holistic approach yet... but he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Snoring also cuts off the normal circulation of air... you could be having headaches from lack of oxygen and an increase of carbon dioxide that isnt being expelled... he is now using a sleep machine (nose gear that forces a light breeze into your nose and keeps your throat open)a big suggestion of weight loss was made for him (I dont know your size) and some people benefit from the nasal strips that keep your nostrils more open and make you less apt to snore... just a thought... try some deep breathing upon waking, before getting up... do this for a few minutes... might help oxygenate your brain! , medmidas <medmi> wrote: > > Try changing pillow. > If U R using fiber pillow change it to sponge/foam pillow. > Fibre pillows use formaldehyde during manufacturing, & known to be V. > toxic. > ============================= > mgvisco wrote: > > Hi... Guest guest
I have discovered that when that starts happening it is time for a chiropractic adjustment of my neck. Guest guest
Mgmisco: " re headaches when I wake up " . What great answers from the group! I would also suggest De-Toxing and Cleansing (see our files). I also was waking up with terrible headaches. I have sleep apnea and use oxygen at night. Since adding a quality detox program the headaches have decreased in intensity and the " fuzziness " is completely gone! Helen
