Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Jessie, and I am Reiki I trained. I would also like to learn massage as a part to go along with this. I recently purchased, " The Massage Book " , by George Downing, and was wondering if there are any books that are a " must have " for learning massage thearpy. Looking forward for conversing with you. Jessie
Guest guest
i would suggest going to school. in some states you must be licenced to practice massage. i am in PA and i only wish PA were licenced. it would clear out alot of the ADULT massage shops. full time classes take about 1 year to complete. if your going to open up and do people you dont know i would really checj into school. if your just doing your friends or family then reading some books would be ok. just make sure you read because massage for as relaxing as it is there are some precautions you must watch for. heyitsjessie <heyitsjessie wrote: Hello everyone, My name is Jessie, and I am Reiki I trained. Guest guest
Hey Jessie, When I started my training 14 years ago I loved the Anatomy and Phisiology Coloring book, because it made an otherwise rough learning curve more enjoyable. You're probably laughing, but it really turned torture into teacher and I got in touch with learning froma childlike point of view. When I graduatedd my head had cleared and I was inspired by my original calling to bodywork, which was energy . . . so I sucked up all I could of Barbara Brennan's " Hands of Light " and " Light Emerging. " I also enjoyed Dr. Randolph Stone's " Polarity I and II. " I have since engaged Reiki, Quantum Touch and other energy related massage style readings and currently just want to look at photo's . . .. go figure. (Must be that childlikeness returning.) If it helps you any, I have an aStore for Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers, you can search for any topic or title you want and decide for yourself what calls you. The URL is: http://astore.amazon.com/thewellwithin-20 I honor your work in Reiki . . . it is a profound modality and I use it often. Best of success to you, ~ B ~ rebelmassage http://www.massagemsoi.com , " heyitsjessie " <heyitsjessie wrote: > > My name is Jessie, and I am Reiki I trained. Guest guest
Hi, I am a student doing a Certificate 4 in massage at a private college. I too have the George Downing book as well as Barbara Anne Brennan's book - they are both wonderful. I am working my way through Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 - it is quite intense but fascinating & I have heard of the colouring in books - unfortunately with the college I attend I have to use their text & workbooks!!!! Good luck with it all if you want support please feel free to contact me privately If I am able to help I would be only to happy to. Kind regards Caroline http://www.alwaysnaturallygreat.com , " Barbara Calkins " <rebelmassage wrote: > > Hey Jessie, > > When I started my training 14 years ago I loved the Anatomy and > Phisiology Coloring book, because it made an otherwise rough learning > curve more enjoyable.
