Laproscopic surgery

Hi all!!

My name is Jessie. I just joined this group, as I have an avid

interest in learning more natural ways to deal with medical issues. I

am a stay at home mom of 2 little girls. I am Pagan, and most of my

friends call me a Kitchen Witch in training LOL....

My first question to you all...I had laproscopic surgery two weeks ago

and one of the incisions isn't healing as quickly as the other two as

it is located exactly where my jeans waistband rubs against it. I've

been keeping bandaids on it, to lessen the friction against the

healing flesh, but don't know what else I can do. Do any of you have

suggestions as to what I can do to help the healing along?

Thanks!

Jessie

Hello I had laproscopic surgery on my shoulder.

3 muscles torn from the rotor cuff and when they got inside my bicep had

been ripped almost 3/4 of the way. 2 screws in my arm and shoulder and 3

pegs in my collar bone. My physical therapist told me to get some vitamin E

oil and rub it on the incisions which I did and they all healed beautifully.

Hope this works for you and good luck on your healing process.

Wear loose fitting jogging pants in which you can tie above the

incision point or below the incision point. Sacrifice beauty for

health for a short period of time and this may help speed your

recovery. Also, try to keep the area dry to reduce the 'soggy scab'

syndrome.

Hi Jessie,

I have had surgery in the same area, put the jeans up for a little

while and wear loose clothing. I found cotton loose clothing is

great.also gauze covering is better than bandaids buy the paper tape.

Finally leave the wound uncovered when ever possible it needs to

breathe.

Make sure you let the area breathe. put up the jeans for awhile and

wear loose fitting clothing. (you've been told this before so I'm

beating a dead horse).

Also the vit E oil idea is a great one. Another thing I've done is

gotten calendual (marigold) flowers and made a poltice from them.

They have a wonderful antibiotic and astringent effect. They also

help with the scarring. Just heat the flowers in some water like a

tea and pack them in some gause on the area. hold it there for

awhile. I know it's hard to do this with kids around (I have 2

myself) but if you can do this either just before bed, or even find

calendual ointment or creams at your local healthfood store, they'll

help alot.

Best of luck!

Thank y.

Thank you to everyone who responded...I did put up the jeans until the

incision was nearly 100% closed, and tried the lavender oil that one of the list

members suggested to me last night and am already noticing that the area isn't

as tender or as bright pink. I really appreciate all the feedback...I'm so glad

I found this group!!!

BTW, I noticed there is a Jessica on here as well...would it be better for y'all

if I include my middle name in my sig so there's no confusion??
