Guest guest
I thought I would let everyone know about these arthritis and other types of pain relief coils. They are called Lakhovsky coils. I belong to a that has been studying these Lakhovsky coils. They are simple and cheap and work great!! Each coil is simply a piece of insulated 10 gauge copper wire. First you measure your waist or neck or wrist or ankle. Then add 4 inches to the waist or 2 inches to any of the other measurements. Then go to your local hardware store and ask for 10 gauge insulated single copper wire--you don't want the multi-strand, you need to have just one single piece of copper inside the insulation. Here it cost only 42 cents a foot, so it's very cheap. Buy the length wire you need, though here they sell it by the foot so if I wanted 42 inches I'd buy 4 feet or 48 inches. The only other thing you need is some electrical tape to hold the coil together. Now cut the wire to the length you want (wire cutters make this easy) and wrap it around you. I only wear a waist coil but some people wear the waist coil AND a neck coil or wrist coil, etc. The coil ends MUST overlap. People get some arthritis benefit from wearing copper bracelets, and bracelets have a certain amount of energy, but not much because the ends are open. Bangle bracelets have their own energy but not a lot because the ends are closed. The big " secret " to the Lakhovsky coil is because the ends overlap. I have no idea why the overlap makes a difference but it certainly does. So, you have the ends overlapped and now you tape the wire ends together lying one on top of the other. The tape keeps the coil in place on the waist. Mostly if you are wearing a neck, wrist or ankle coil you don't need the tape because 10 gauge wire is pretty stiff and will hold its shape. So lots of people use 12 gauge wire for the neck, wrist and ankle. Number is bigger but the wire size is actually smaller in diameter and they find the 12 gauge more comfortable to wear, especially around their necks. Why make a Lakhovsky coil? These coils stop pain! It's amazing. I actually don't have arthritis but my 2 older dogs do, so I wanted to make the coils for them, but figured I'd first try it out on myself. So I made mine as a waist coil. I didn't notice anything the first day or the second day. The third day I was thinking about asking my husband for a back rub, because all my adult life I have carried my stress in my shoulders and upper back. I've lived with this for so long I don't even think of it as " pain " --just something that is there. But as I was contemplating asking him for a back rub to loosen everything up I suddenly realized that I didn't even HAVE any tension!! It was so subtle that I hadn't even noticed the coil working! And I actually never expected to feel anything at all because I didn't consider the coil for tension or stress--everyone else just talked about it relieving arthritis and joint pain. So I was VERY surprised by the lack of tension in my shoulders and back. I then made collars for my dogs. They have been wearing their copper coil collars for over 6 weeks now, 24/7. Normally the dogs have very bad arthritis spells (sometimes they can't even stand up) when the weather changes, and we have had LOTS of weather changes because of the time of year, but they have not had even one bit of pain. I'm just amazed. Also, I had a doctors appointment. 2 weeks ago and took my shower the night before. I took the coil off then and left it off all night. The next morning I went to the docs, not wearing the coil because she wouldn't understand. Later that afternoon I suddenly realized that I could feel the tight belt feeling that I've had all across my stomach where my surgery from a year ago was. Ever since that major surgery I've had a feeling of having a tight one inch wide band across the stomach, from one side all the way to the other. Again, the workings of the coil was so subtle that I hadn't felt the relief of not feeling that tightness until I took the coil off and the feeling came back! I made my husband a waist coil, but he's more sensitive to it than I am. For many people, him being one, they can't wear the coil 24/7 as I can. After a few days of wearing it all day and night he started having weird dreams, which is a " symptom " of wearing the coil too much. They say that once the body's energy is balanced you don't need to wear the coils 24 hours a day--pick either day or night wear. I told my brother about the coil because he was having bad knee and hip pain after exercising and when he rolled over in bed, enough that it would wake him up. He made a coil and could tell a difference from the first day he put it on. He doesn't have ANY pain after exercise now, nor does he wake up due to pain. He only wears his to bed at night. You can wear it next to your skin so it's hidden under your clothes if you want to wear it during the day, or people have found it even works when being worn OVER clothes. My brother says that as soon as he puts his coil on for the night he feels a subtle energy movement through his whole body, and he's not particularly energy sensitive. But some people on the list say the same thing--that they can feel the energy move as soon as they put the coil on, but that it stops in just a few minutes. I have never felt any energy shift, but then I can wear mine constantly. The coils work for more than just arthritis. The list owner has 2 really bad discs in his neck. The doctors told him the only thing to be done was to operate and fuse them. He refused, and started wearing a coil. He found that not only is he without pain, but that he can turn his head fully in any direction. I told an 80 year old friend of mine and she made a waist coil. She wrote me 3 days later, so surprised, because she said she was in her kitchen cleaning and one of her favorite songs came on the radio. She started dancing to the music when she suddenly realized that she WAS dancing without pain, something she had not been able to do for over a year!!! And my old female dog has been depressed for about 5 months, because we got a puppy. Long story, but Bonnie, the older dog, went into a depression--just laying around, not playing with me, not eating much, just not herself. No matter how much time I spent with her or what I tried I couldn't get her out of her depression. After wearing the coil for only 3 weeks she started returning to her old self!! She's now exactly like she was--even more playful than she's been in the last couple of years. Many people, especially people that have made coil collars for their older cats, are reporting the same thing. That the cat stops sleeping so much, has begun playing more and eating more, even that their hair is getting shiny again. I have noticed a slight improvement in energy in the old male we have, but he's 14 so I don't expect much, but I do see it. If you find that once you've made a coil and love wearing it as much as I do you will get tired of taping it all the time, as the tape eventually breaks or comes apart--especially if you only wear it part of a day. I tried masking tape, duct tape and the electric tape and the electric tape stays the longest. Still, it comes apart due to my rolling around all night in my sleep. :-) When it comes apart, where the tape was, it's all sticky. Someone on the list suggested going to the auto supply store and buying engine vacuum hosing. There is a size that just fits the insulated wire, so take a piece of the wire with you so they can find the right size hose. Then buy a foot of hose. Again, it's VERY cheap. When you get home cut 2 pieces about 4 to 6 inches long of hose. Insert one end of the wire into one piece of the hose and tape it into place on the wire. Then tape the other piece of hose to the first piece, either on top of or underneath of the first piece. With this piece of hose taped into place you can now just slide the other end of the wire into the hose, and back out, as needed when you want to take the coil off! The wire fits tight enough to hold it in place even with my tossing and turning in bed. There you have it. A simple, cheap. effective pain reliever. Doesn't seem to matter what type of CHRONIC pain it is. A lady that has been wearing a coil for over 20 years points out that if you have a bad tooth ache you will still need to deal with the tooth, as the coil doesn't work for that type of pain. But, she believes the coil's benefits are accumulative because recently she has fallen twice and done some major damage to her hand and foot, yet says that the pain only lasted one day instead of weeks, and the damage just doesn't seem to be what she expected. She believes because she has worn the coil for so long that it's given her body a greater healing ability. Guess I'll know better for myself 20 years from now! Guest guest
Renee - Is it necessary to peel off a little of the insulation so that the actual copper wire touches when overlapped? Guest guest
Hi Judy. No, you do NOT want the copper to touch copper anywhere. In other words, no bare copper at all. When you clip the ends of the wires to fit around your waist, or wherever, you will see the copper wire inside the insulation, but that's it--you don't want any bare copper showing. For some reason, if the bare copper touches bare copper anywhere on the coil it shorts out the energy wave and you won't get the healing benefit. Before, when the Lakhovsky coil was first made (back in the 20's I think), the type of insulation was not like it is today and it was taken off. So bare wire was used, but then the overlapping ends HAD to be covered in something so that they wouldn't touch. Some people used tape, some used rubber. There's a site on the web if you do some coil research where you will find a drawing of how to make a coil, but this method uses bare copper wire and it shows you how to wrap the ends so they don't touch. You can by-pass all that wrapping and taping if you just leave the full insulation on. The only reason we use tape now is just to hold the wire in place on the body, and you can even skip this by a one-time taping of the auto vacuum hose onto the copper so that you can slide the one insulated copper end into and out of the hose. Guest guest
thank you so much - wanted to be sure of whether or not the bare wire should touch. Am going to make one today and hope it will give me some relief. Guest guest
I'm positive it will help. Just be sure to give it a few days. Some people feel relief almost immediately, but others--such as myself, didn't notice anything for a couple of days. You can start out wearing it 24 hours a day, but if you start having weird dreams, or it increases pain somewhere or starts a new pain somewhere, just wear it half a day--night or daytime. The increased pain, or new pain, seems to be the body trying to work through an injury or bring something to the surface, so you want to take it slow. I have had no such problems and I wear my coil constantly. My husband, on the other hand, can only wear it half a day as he gets weird dreams, and his wrists started hurting when he wore it constantly. He's trying no to work through the wrist pain (that he never had before) because we think it's actually a healing process. Over the past 2 years he's lost hand strength and tests have shown that he has some blockage between his neck and shoulders causing the weakness in his hands. So I think the wrist pain is the coil trying to repair that damage. Most people don't get any pain from wearing the coil too much--just mostly weird dreams. One person in the group said that he got a little numbness in his forearms from wearing the coil a lot, so once he cut back to just wearing it at night the numbness went away--along with all the joint pain he originally started wearing the coil for. So, start out wearing it 24 hours a day and go from there. Let us know what happens--and good luck!
