Guest guest
HI Everyone, I was the one who posted about my college giving me issues about the fact that I didnt submit my immunization records. Therefore, i am posting a follow up email to let you know what happened in the end - for those of you who might need to do the same. 1) I spoke to my chiropractor / Kneiseiologist - and she told me SHE HAS NO POWER! She cannot write a letter or anything becasue it will NOT BE ACCEPTED. (she said she can barely issue handicapped parking permits) 2) i spoke to the NJ Health Dept (i live in NJ) and they told me, that the law is- i must write a letter from me personally (no rabbi / priest) it must be from me, based on my personal beliefs why i dont do immunizations and i need to use the bible (since im jewish), and quote 1-2 citings of where i base my religious beliefs / opinions on. 3) i asked every rabbi i knew :) ... they gave me a bunch of quotes (after quizzically asking me why i dont do immunizations :) --- but they were helpful, and gave me some verses that COULD be translated the way i want ... I submitted it to my school, with sweaty hands and butterflies in my stomach - and it worked! I was then able to register for my spring semester! Phew! In short, thank you to all of oyu who replied to my email ... i appreciate it. It is WONDERFUL and so REFRESHING to see a of people who think like me in regards to medicine, and it is so wonderful to be able to ask / confide in people who wont mock, question you, or cause me to feel like a " whacko " ... in short - thank you all ... wishing you continued success and health :) Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!! Guest guest
Deborah, I am so glad it worked out for you. People usually just look at you funny but, in the end they have to follow the law and, the law is that in most states we have the right not to vaccinate. Good luck in school.
