Guest guest
Hi everyone. I hope everyone had a good holiday. I was wondering if anyone had a good temporary fix for a toothache, My tooth cracked a few months ago and it was o.k. until recently. It has been hurting and the dentist told me I need a root canal however I do not have dental insurance and I don't have 800.00 to have it fixed. So any advice would great. Thanks in advance,
Guest guest
I recently tried this method on a tooth cavity where I'm sure there is infection because of the throbbing pain and got immediate relief. I bought a small bottle of 10ppm colloidal silver at the health food store and twice a day I would mix 1-2 oz. of warm water along with three dropperfuls of the silver in a cup and rinse my mouth, particularly over the bad tooth area. By the next day the pain decreased almost 100%. There is also a product called Dent's toothache gum and can be purchased at many drugstores, particularly Walgreen's. It's a strip of beeswax that has been impregnated with benzocaine to kill pain and you take a small piece and pack into tooth. I've not tried this so can't give a personal yes or no comment on it. Guest guest
I have used teatree oil and it seemed to help. You can get a cotton swab and swab it on like anbesol. Teatree oil is an antiseptic and pain reliever. Clove oil seems to work also, I had toothaches forever and didn't have dental insurance for years, and i just recently had my teeth done 15 fillings and 3 teeth pulled later you could imagine the pain I was in. If you try it let me know how it works for you. Stephanie mycodismodis <mycodismodis wrote: Hi everyone. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Guest guest
oil of clove is very good for tooth ache also there is a wax that you apply to the tooth and it will seal the crack (only temporary)
Guest guest
Cloves are a temporary help for sure. Just a bit of information...every root canal I have had done, I have now lost the tooth. Sure was NOT worth the money involved. Susan Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta.

Guest guest
Susan, The reason you have lost every root canaled tooth, is once the vitality of the tooth is removed (i.e., via root canal procedure),the tooth has no life to it, thus it becomes brittle. Your dentist who did the root canals, either forgot (NOT likely) to tell you this, and that you would need a " Crown " on that root canaled tooth-which is another $800- plus, or more than likely didn't tell you this because you might have opted for an extraction. I used to work for a DDS who like to con his patients in such a manor. He would tell them to save the tooth they would need a root canal, but omit telling them about needing a crown after that RC. A few weeks or months later, said patient would return saying " Doc, I bit into a soft piece of bread and my tooth just shattered! " Then the dentist would tell them, " Oh, you need a crown " . It was his way to get the root canal procedure done without having to admit to the patient that it would end up costing them an arm and a leg in the end. I hated that DDS. Thankfully, he is retired now. Don't ever let a dentist tell you that you won't need a crown after a root canal, it's a lie! Also, if you have a tooth crowned, there is a good chance you might also need the opposing tooth done eventually too, this is because of the hard crown slapping against the opposing tooth can crack the other tooth. I hope that makes sence to you, Good Luck, S , susan <susan134 wrote: > > Cloves are a temporary help for sure. Guest guest
Trust me even with a crown the tooth can shatter it depends on the lab where the crown was made and just how cheaply they made the crown. I lost 3 crowns in the last 2 years. All had been done in 1999. I now have a lower partial. Save yourself the money you'd spend on crowns and put it towards a partial which is what most people will wind up with anyway eventually. As for an infection in the tooth try colloidial silver. But make sure you get the 0.0008 particle size for effectiveness. I use the Sovreign Silver brand for any and all infections both viral and bacterial including sinus infections. , Debra Martin <mycodismodis wrote: > > Thank You for such good advice. Guest guest
Actually having had many toothaches, I found the best thing to do is swish some warm baking soda water around the tooth and rinse really well with it. Then make a tea with cloves, either powdered or whole, boil it till strong. Strain and hold the tea over the tooth that hurts as long as you can. Don't use unless strained or the tiny bits will lodge in the tooth. It stings the tongue a little but it numbs the pain away. You may have to do this several times a day. I think it kills the root also because it has been years since I have had any pain and I still have the teeth but they are not infected. Sometimes Catholic Services can steer you to a dental program run by dentists that volunteer their time. You don't have to be Catholic either. If you get an abcess, go to the county hospital and see if you can get an antibiotic. God Bless You, I know what that feels like. Peace, Thyme
Guest guest
If it was a back tooth, I'd have it pulled instead. Root canals are only good for 5 years or less. And I wouldn't let the dentist talk me into a root canal if I couldn't afford one. --- > > p In , " mycodismodis " > > mycodismodis@ wrote: > > > > > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
For the toothache, I drink about 1/8th cup of vinegar. I have also made tea with Echinacea, vinegar, garlic, oregano, lemon juice, red peppers (the kind you sprinkle on pizza). It taste really nasty, but it works. I had a really bad toothache which was getting infected, drank this and the ache was gone the next morning. Sounds crazy, but it worked for me.
