Guest guest
I too have tried every diet available, I'm 43. at last my weight has come down to almost my target weight. Have you heard of either The Gi diet or GL diet ? It involves a very sensible practical plan, eating 'good carbs' with protein. Lots of beans, lean meat, fish, nuts, low fat cheeses, some pasta, brown rice, fruit.. If you're interested I can give you some links ? stephanie_loves_vegas <stephanie_loves_vegas wrote: I am 29 and have tried every diet under the sun and nothing seems to work. Guest guest
I am going to throw my 2 cents in here even though I am new and have not read all the rules. So if I offend, sorry. Stephanie, if you have really tried diets and they have not worked and your hormones or adrenals are NOT out of balance (and you are sure about this), then look to your emotions. Find someone to help with healing wherever you are trying to protect yourself. If someone came to me we would explore energy blocks, 'past life' traumas and/or limiting beliefs that are being held onto that contribute to the body's need for protection regardless of what is happening in your life today. I could not lose weight (use to weigh 240lbs) until I dealt with some sexual and psychic abuse stuff. And quite frankly, much of the sexual abuse was in other lives. Now, because of other stuff, I am hormonally out of balance and working on recovering from that. The imbalance and severe stress of this year contributed to me falling back on old patterns and gaining weight. So if none of that is happening for you, I suggest it is time to approach suppressed emotions/fears. One other thing, Stephanie, I found certain foods really messed up my system but because I had eaten them for so long I didn't recognize it. When I went on a an all fresh/organic and no processed food diet after I had cancer, I found out that I can no longer tolerate big hunks of any kind of meat or most processed foods. So you may have some hidden food allergies or intolerances that trigger you in some way (physically or emotionally) and create the need to hold onto extra weight. And, as long as I am handing out advice, try not to panic/obsess about losing weight. Try to focus on being healthy/flexible/strong etc. It might mean you eat whatever you want for a little while but you exercise more or meditate more until you are ready to change your food habits. Good luck. stephanie_loves_vegas <stephanie_loves_vegas wrote: I am 29 and have tried every diet under the sun and nothing seems to work. I am interested in any ideas that anyone has that might work. Guest guest
Hypnosis, Biofeedback and Vegan diet are some of the things I have used to lose weight and help clients loose weight. Diets don't work. Lifestyle changes and mental changes do. Making sure your elimination system is working properly will help. Also having a supportive support system helps. Mental issues play a big role in weight reduction. When you call it weight loss the body hears literally and starts to look for what it's lost....call it weight reduction and the body is ok with reducing. I work with client via Distance and local sessions to help get to the bottom of the weight gain issues and help them start to reduce properly and permanently. Guest guest
I would start by losing about two hundred pounds of husband....seriously, no man should call his wife fat, I don't care how much you weigh, that is just cruel. I wouldn't be surprised if his name calling is one of the reasons why you might eat.......As I'm sure you know, there is no quick fix. Taking junk food out of your diet and walking, walking, walking will help you shed excess pounds for a quick start but it's a life long committment to healthy food, smaller portions and exercise that will do the trick. Also, be sure to treat yourself right, because you are worth it and you do not have to subject yourself to fat comments from anyone, especially the person that is supposed to be your life partner. all the best, you can do it, Kate stephanie_loves_vegas <stephanie_loves_vegas wrote: I am 29 and have tried every diet under the sun and nothing seems to work. Guest guest
I have come up with the most amazing tool to lose weight. It is so easy that most people will not take it seriously. But after 15 years of trying to lose weight and it just not happening I started to analyze why I wasn't able to lose any weight. The reason being is that I was not in control of my eating. Simple. So every day as much as I can ..I repeat the following, and especially before eathing: " I am in COMPLETE CONTROL of What I eat, When I eat and How Much I eat! " The trick is to really mean it. Separate your mind from your body when you say it..and really tell your body off! I know it sounds weird, but if you do this it REALLY WORKS! Several friends have also tried it and its working for them. You start to realize that you ARE in complete control and that you can't blame anything or anybody. Can you please email me if you try this and it works for you. I would be really interested in finding out how people find it. Guest guest
Before you do something that drastic, get his attention, try and get your hands holding his face, look into his eyes and say " Do you realize how much you are hurting me " " The way you are treating me is part of my weight problem " " My enviroment is critical to my weight maintenance, please try to be a part of the solution, not part of the problem " If he doesn't understand that he never will, and my suggestion would be the same as the other, find someone who will understand!!! Guest guest
Getting rid of the husband is a bit drastic, but I do agree with the importance of the emotional factor. Try the EFTslim. Guest guest
Hi Stephanie, I suggest getting a copy of Susan Schenk's book The Live Food Factor which is all about a raw food diet. There are loads of stories with pictures of before and after and many of these people were quite large and couldn't lose weight. Raw food will fill your body with nutrients and enzymes which will burn fat. You will need to eat a lot at first but as your body gets filled up, you won't feel hungry hardly at all. Green smoothies are a great start. I was just reading a post on the acne group about a woman who cured her acne just by drinking green smoothies for seven (I think) months. That's an indication she got her liver and bowels working properly. A lack of amino acids might be to blame if you are craving food. You might be undernourished. You didn't mention what you eat now. Do you have energy to excercise? Are you happy with your husband other than his calling you fat? He may be frustrated too with the situation and if you sit and talk about it with him perhaps he would be more willing to help. How's his weight? What kind of food do you eat? Do you eat meals together? Could you go for a daily walk together? Do you crave sweets, bread, dairy or alcohol? This would be an indication of candida. It's almost impossible to lose weight if this is the case. Whatever you do, don't use artificial sweeteners! They will make you hungry and eat more later because they are not filling. White flour products are also empty calories. Drink lots of water. Sometimes we eat when really we are just thirsty. What kind of work do you do? EFT may help too since you sound quite stressed about it. There are lots of stories and also a manual at www.emofree.com. You can literally flip your mood around in a matter of about three minutes with this. It can help with food cravings as well. Hope this helps. My messenger is energy_now if you want to chat. A support system is necessary but so is commitment. All the best! Guest guest
Hello Stephanie, Losing weight, first of all, should be considered based on what you want for yourself..your husband's opinions are secondary considerations, although it is very hurtful to hear one's mate talk about you that way..I have to get this off my chest: he needs to grow up. You may need to address some depression issues as well. With a husband like that, I'd be depressed which would make taking care of myself all that much more difficult. Female nature, being what it is..we tend to allow ourselves to be defined by others opinions, even if they haven't a clue what it is to walk in our shoes. This is a trend I'd like to see change! Love should be unconditional, period. Ok, having said that, when you are ready; dieting doesn't work. That is important to understand..fad diets, in particular. They are reported to lend results in the short term, but long term, a good healthy program is always a better plan. It will depend, first, on the underlying causes for the weight gain. Hormonal imbalances, sedentary lifestyle and poor diet are the top three causes for weight gain. I would start with a visit to the doctor to rule out Hypothyroidism. There is also a means to gauge this at home, by basal temperature taking-but to start off, it wouldn't hurt to get a physical at your regular doctor's office. (If you are more than 20 pounds overweight, it could be your Thyroid, but not necessarily). If you have a Thyroid condition, there are treatment options the doctor can discuss with you and also there are some natural supports but it would be important to be followed by a Naturopath and not go willy nilly off on your own as hormone imbalances can be tricky. You don't want to make matters worse. Next up, diet...a balanced diet, not a weight loss (faddish) diet. I suggest organics, whole foods as much as possible, five to six small meals daily, emphasis on fruits/veggies/lean proteins/begin elimination of whites-sugar, pasta, white rice, white bread and do away with pastries, cakes, cookies, chips, sodas, fruit juices.read labels..my motto is, " If it doesn't decay in a matter of days, or doesn't sprout, it's not food for the body " (the longer the shelf life, the more chemically altered that convenience food is)...-add instead Stevia for sugar, Spelt or Kamut bread, spinach or other veggie pasta if you have to have pastas, etc. 8-9 glasses of pure water a day (I add E-Lyte to my purified water-1/2 cap per 8 ounce glass). Water is crucial to weight loss. We are made of 70% water. When we are dehydrated, or not eating enough, our body goes into starvation mode and piles on fat to survive. There are countless good websites or books on sound nutrition. And of course, no good diet is complete without the excersize program, also available on the www. I like Denise Austin (sorry for being a name dropper), but she offers a good all around, geared for women, program. Info available on the web. Here's the bottom line. No program is effective unless you start it and stick with it. It takes at least three weeks of steady work to BEGIN to see any results. At first, you may not see any weight loss on the scale... that's fine...as you drop unhealthy weight, if you are following the right program, you'll begin to build muscle mass so the scale may not budge or only slightly budge. Stick with it, however and you will begin to see results. It's consistency that seems to be the biggest challenge. You can do it....if you want to. I wish you luck. Guest guest
Hello Dude I would like to give you a very simple treatment for weight loss. Take a glass of lukewarm water (warm that you will be able to drink) add honey two teaspoon.... try this for atleast 15 days. Please take this early morning after you get up. Dont eat for atleast one hour after this. Please check your weight on 1st day and then 15th day.... If it is gradually reducing then your body has got tendency to reduce fats. Try to avoid butter, cheese replace it to margarine. Remove from your mind that you are fat. Reduce non-veg items. Once in a while its ok. Have more of fiberous fruits and vegetables. Do regular homely excercise like : lay flat on the floor and try to get up atleast 25 times keeping your legs firmly on floor. Please let me know. This is a small help which I would like to share with everyone. Guest guest
I gained 32 kgs (70 lbs) during my 32 week pregnancy with triplets! It was extremely difficult to get rid of the weight cuz I was eating sooooooooo much during my pregnancy. I have so far lost 28 kgs and I eat what I want! I drink warm water with lemon twice a day (speeds up your metabolism), drink oolong tea and green tea and I walk 30 mins every evening I did not go on any diet. I hate dieting. Oh and drink lots and lots of water I think it's about changing your lifestyle. I dont belive in diets.
