Guest guest
what does it mean when your periods change drastically? being on the pill for 15 years, I am now in my early thirties and for the last 6 mos my periods are very light and mostly dark brown/black and thick like a paste. I have always been irregular and just went off the pill this month to see if my period will have normal bloodflow again. Am I premenapausal? I have no children and have not been trying to get pregnant. I have a really good diet (plenty of omegas, vitamins, etc.) I drink lots of water and exercise/yoga fairly regularly. I am normal weight. My skin and all else is great.
Guest guest
Sounds like your body just trying to adjust to its own hormonal balance. Going off the pill, it is no longer fooled into thinking it's pregnant. Are there any other symptoms, cramping, odor, etc. , " BB " <bbes10 wrote: > > what does it mean when your periods change drastically? being on the > pill for 15 years, I am now in my early thirties and for the last 6 > mos my periods are very light and mostly dark brown/black and thick > like a paste. Guest guest
First of all, 15 years is a very long time to be on the pill without giving the body a rest from it. My understanding is three years on, one year off, and so on. When did your flow change? Like Jan asked, do you notice any unusual odor or excessive cramping? Do you notice any pain when excersizing that stops you while you are trying to break a sweat? Did you just stop taking the pill without consulting your doctor? You said you have " always been irregular " .... even while on the pill?? It is impossible to suggest with any clear conscious that you are indeed " pre-menopausal " at this time. It is possible, but the symptoms you describe here, do not necessarily support it. You can have some blood work to help determine this: FSH, LH, Estrodial. It would be wise to make a visit to your doctor and discuss these issues since you have been on the Pill for that long. Best wishes, Powitree (I'm post menopausal-post hyst-post hormone hell-so I guess I'm somewhat in the know..lol) NM Jan <oompdink wrote: Sounds like your body just trying to adjust to its own hormonal balance. Guest guest
BB, I agree with Jan. Sounds as if your body is just trying to adjust to its own hormonal balance. I got off the birth control about 5 months ago (because I didn't want the adverse effects associated with taking the pill). I decided to take the leap and look into the Creighton Model of Fertility which teaches a woman (and her spouse, if married) to have intercourse during certain times of the month. I just couldn't imagine myself being on birth control for another 10 years or so. Furthermore, I wanted to tell you that the licensed health profession who teaches this course stated that it takes a while for the drug to actually leave the body. It may take up to 6 or 7 months before your body resumes back to its normal state. I found that quite interesting. Guest guest
I guess I was being vague. I just went off the pill in the past few weeks. These changes in my cycle have been happening for several months, while still on the pill. This is definitely not related to the pill per se-I have been on it for years and have had normal albeit light bloodflow. I can only assume the change is some change in my body in the past few months, as for over 10 years I have had normal bloodflow while on the pill. I went off the pill in the past month to see if I could get my body to go back to normal red flows. Does that make more sense? I wondered if this new blood appearance was something premenapausal? ______________________________\ ____ Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta. http://new.mail.
