i have a friend who has 2 sets of twin boys, in the first set whom are

11 years old the second twin has severe autism. he had a blood

transfusion when he was born later on during toddler years noticed he

was different. anyways i am trying to do some online research to find

something to help him because he is really out of control and i dont

feel the wrap around services alone and special schooling is doing him

justice. if anyone has any websites, books, or advise of any kind let

I have an 18 year old son who has Aspergers Autism and I use Biofeedback with

him along with other therapies available to me. I have had great results with

him. He is more relaxed, less combative, can concentrate more and is generally

more receptive to change. The hostility is minimal and you can communicate with

him much easier.

Hi Jessica,

For ADD/ADHD, I have been using audiotherapy.

It's effective, easy to do at home and generally affordable. As a

licensed therapist in the USA, It may be paid for with certain

insurances.

Write me off line so I can paste your e-mail into papers that I can

send to you with more info.

Hi Jessica, since your friend's son is 11 that she has tried some

things I might mention here.

The GCFC diet (gluten free, casein free) has helped many. It takes

some commitment to do I imagine, and I don't know about any additional

cost. My son was limited in his eating choices (food texture problems)

that I looked at it but never tried it (the diet). He is very mild

with Asperger Syndrome. Website:

http://www.gfcfdiet.com/

Also, with an expert's help, has she looked at chelation? Or had any

testing done for heavy metals? I know of some parents who have tried

this. Here is one website, but I'm not particularly recommending this

company, there are others; but it'll give you some info about it, you

can research further:

I work with Autistic Children. Get the book: " Enzymes for Autism and other

Neurological Disorders " by Karen DeFelice. One of the keys is first healing the

gut. This book should be her bible. Karen DeFelice just published another book

on the same subject, but, I'm sorry the title escapes me. You can most likely

google it. I suspect he began regressing around 18 months, when the worst set

of vaccines are administered (ie: MMR vaccine) -Judy

check out www.upledger.com Dr. John Upledger has made great break

throughs using craniosacral therapy for autistic children. His

book " YOur inner physician and you " has an example in there about it.

Also Ellen Cutlers book the " The food allergy cure " Bioset treatments

are allergy treatments and it can also help autism from a nutritional

stand point...even enzyme therapy can help the absorption of nutrients

that he may not be absorbing. I have heard people refer to diets that

have helped their children. For example all organic. I think you

will find the answer.

Btw BIoSet treatments can be done at home yourself with the

instructions from the book. Very simple! If you know how to muscle

test it is very easy.

Vaccinosis has been labeled a culprit for autism too.

Good luck and best wishes.

Please look at some reading material regarding the indigo and crystal children

as the kids are often misdiagnosed with autism and/or adhd. While it may not be

applicable it is worth looking at.

Hi Jesssica,

I have found this e-book to help a lot of people on the different

aspects of autism. This e-book is called The Essential Guide To

Autism, and is by the author Rachel Evans. Evans is a very

descriptive writer that takes you through the whole scheme of autism

and really gets down to the whys and hows of this dreaded epidemic

among children these days. Evans takes you from early detections of

autism, right through educating an autistic child. I have included

the e-book title and link below.

Hopefully this will put an end to your internet searches.

Have a Great Day,

My son is almost 19 and is also Asperser's Autism. I use both diet and

Biofeedback Therapy to help with symptoms. He has head trauma at 2 years old and

a severe infection when he was 6 that the dr. couldn't figure out. It delayed

his development about 5 months. Raw food diet, removal of all dairy products and

refined sugars made a difference. Essentially the Feingold diet is what works

for us.

Steven will not eat eggs, that's his only eating issue. He doesn't tolerate

milk.

I have a daughter who " was " severe autistic...now she's pretty much a

normal, with a few quirks, child. She saw a wonderful doctor, Dr Mary

Megson, who is a leading researcher in children with behavioral

problems. Her web site is www.megson.com and she has found all kinds of

things wrong with my daughter that provoke an autistic response.

Basically my daughter's primary care physician slapped a lable on her

and sent her on her merry way! Through Dr Megson we have discovered

Ronnie (our daughter) has celiac disease (gluten intolerance), severe

intestinal yeast problems, metal poisonings from lead to mercury,

hypoglycemia, etc, etc, etc. Through diet, vitamin therapy, chelation

therapy, and 2 prescriptions for yeast (on top of probiotic supplments,

and a whole ton of garlic) she's brought our child back.

Please have your friend look into it. And also get her to force them to

do lots of lab tests on him. We're sorry for not having done this when

the lable was first slapped on our daughter...if we had she wouldn't be

behing 3 years.

I wanted to post and thank everybody who is responding to this, i am

not closing out the search i still want to find as much as possible on

this because the boys condition is not good he cant even communicate

he makes weird sounds alot, acts out, squeezes stuffed animals and

people, runs around, but then on the other hand he follows orders so

he shows intelligence. theres a problem with keeping him on a learning

level he regresses if u cant constantly maintain it. he had a teacher

who worked with him she ended up being transfered there was a few

weeks he went without and he regressed rapidly.. seemed like him being

around younger kids in particular a couple toddlers he was trying to

go back to that.

a side comment on the one person who posted about his regressing

beginning around 18 months the time the mmr is administered, the thing

that is puzzling is he is a twin and they both got those shots and hes

the one who regressed not the other one, thats around the age she

noticed the regressing he wouldnt play with this twin etc.. a local

doctor had an excuse saying theres a high autism rate in this area

(western pennsylvania) and they think its because theres alot of old

mines.

i dont know about that but its a little info for anyone who may have

more info. - jessica

Get him checked. Even if it's not the MMR vaccine it may be the

mines. Our daughter was metal poisoned because of the freeway that

runs about 1 block from our house. She had her MMR and the metal

issues started showing up then (18 months) but when tested most of

her problems were lead. I found out from the VA state Health

Department that children under the age of 5 should not have a

capillary lead blood test, but a venous one...something about the

lead not being able to filter into the smaller veins of a child " s

body. We're in a high risk lead zip code so she was tested but

results were normal. I found out that they were only normal because

the wrong test was done for her! Please have him tested...insist on

all kinds of tests. Don't be happy with a lable being slapped on

him. We were not, and we're real happy now that she's back to

almost " normal " . :)

Have him checked for heavy metal toxicity. It can be done with a hair

test. Particularly look at mercury and lead.

I've worked with autistics for years and some of them pretty diffucult. the

thing you want to remember is that autistics have a visual brain, for instance,

if you show theme a picture of a dog and it happens to be a great dane, that is

their definition of dog, and therefore, a german shepard cannot be a dog, too.

Use this thought through your expierences. I have used picture cards for some

of them that I have known. this one girl loved candy. when she didnt get that

type of candy, and she couldnt ask for it, she would get grumpy and have an

" episode " which resulted in physical safety issues. A professional from my

state got involved and suggested picture cards that she could point to to let

her needs be known and that helped a lot. All it was was just digital pictures

on index cards that she used to let her wants be known. when she wanted that

specific candy I spole about, she would get that specific card out and I would

buy her some. The pictures were put into a

type of photo album that she carried along with her at all times. Also, some

autistics are super sensitive. I could be sense of smell or hearing or sight.

even fluorescent lights can be reasons for these outbursts. there is a girl

named Temple Grandin that is autistic wrote a book called " in a cow's eye " I

believe. she also does talks to the public, and to this day uses these index

cards that I talked about to help her keep a schedule of her speech. She ended

up making farm equipment, designing it herself! If posssible, read the book and

that could help you understand the disease better
