Guest guest
Well then great! You're way ahead. And Rosemary Gladstar's book will give you a lot of answers as well. I also recommend Susun Weed. The two together give you a TON of information and you can use them to cross-reference. Oatstraw is fantastic. I'm a convert. I love it. Can't get enough. It's a good tonic for the nervous system too, which helps high-strung individuals like me to relax! ILANA xoxo Katherine Huether wrote: Thats a great idea! I didn't even think of drinking that tea all the time.. I drink red clover all cycle because I put it in a cleansing blend, but not the raspberry. I bought Rosemary Gladstar's Woman's Herbal and ordered some herbs to make a cycle tea, but they haven't come in yet. I drink Oatstraw all the time too. Ilana Grostern <ilana wrote: Katherine, If you suffer regularly from cramps then it's a good idea to drink red raspberry and red clover all cycle. That way you can be sure that you are getting a lot of calcium and magnesium, which help muscles to relax. What I do for a heating pad is pour boiling water in a mason jar, seal it, wrap it in a tea towel and relax with it on my lower belly. Works like a charm and stays warm for quite a while! I don't have the most obvious herb of all- Cramp Bark. I am about to put some cayenne ointment on it too. Crampbark really is the best, I recommend you get some. As for others with cramps, what kind? Menstrual I assuming , or is it gas? Going with menstrual maybe try peppermint and ginger added to the above you are already taking. Do you have any essential oils? If you do perhaps I could help you figure out something to rub on the abdomen Erin

I remember she mentioned these herbs, but forget in what context. Uva Ursi is mainly for the urinary system as one of the very best herbs in that department . I have never heard of it for cramps as an additional effect but you never know. Black Cohosh may help but I dont know about that. It helps regulate you with estrogen like effects so this could make it worse or better depending on your body. Many cramp formulas do include this herb however. Also, black cohosh *may* increase bleeding Erin

I do have a proven hormonal imbalence. It has caused a series of first trimester miscarriages. I have been to a doctor who loves drugs, and I get to deal with side effects (not the least is weight gain, which i now also have to combat) I would love any info on balencing hormones and avoiding miscarriage. Guest guest
Hi Heat some salt in a fry pan - 2 cups should be OK - heat the salt until it turns a taupy color and then pour it on a piece of flannelette. Gather the ends and secure with an elastic and use as a heating pad. My Hungarian mother-in-law told me to do this when I had a sinus infection. I used a lot less salt and just made a little bag that I put on my sinus area and boy, did it work! The sinuses start draining like crazy. The salt keeps the heat for a long time - hope it works on your tummy! Joyce Katherine Huether [kohwriter]May 7, 2003 10:11 AMherbal remedies Subject: [herbal remedies] Cramps I have cramps. Guest guest
Ramona, Vitex, also know as agnus castus also known as chasteberry is a great place to start. If you have a luteal phase defect it will help to balance your estrogen and progesterone levels. See if you can find it in tincture and start taking it according to the label directions. It works wonders! Have you popped onto any TTC boards for more info? Guest guest
Susun Weed is great (www.susunweed.com)... so is Rosemary Gladstar's woman's herbal book. There is a section on fertility in there. I have also heard it say that apple cider vinegar mixed with honey (I believe the proportion was 1 tbs vinegar, 1 tbs honey in 8 oz of water)... can be taken three times a day and helps with fertility. I tried to do this for myself but had to stop because I couldn't stand the taste. Ilana Grostern <ilana wrote: John,Wow, 48? I'm not even sure what to advise. Guest guest
John, Adele Davis writes about this in her book: Let's have healthy children. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get pregnant - it takes you from pre-conception to baby's age of about a year and was a great help to me! "Difficulty in conceiving. Malnutrition of either husband or wife can prevent conception. Vitamin A deficiencies greatly lower experimental fertility and damage the sperm-producing cells. Mild deficiencies of vitamin E allow fewer sperm to be produced. When men have increased their vitamin-E intake, the quality of their sperm improves markedly, especially if vitamin A and E are taken together. Inadequate B vitamins and protein limit sperm motility and the production of both ova and sperm." etc. Anyhow, about 2 months before I wanted to get pregnant, I started on a regime of a vitamin intake - a balanced multi-vitamin and mineral, and both my husband and I took additional vitamin E. I fell pregnant 3 months later, at age 39. I cannot of course tell you if the vitamins really did help, as it might have happened without it also. I just know that I hadn't got pregnant before in this life, even though trying prior to this. Guest guest
Just wanted to add that one of the reason why nettle, red raspberry and red clover are touted as fertility herbs is because they're so high in all those vitamins. I'm not one for supplements so i really feel that those herbal teas (along with many others) play a crucial role in our overall health, and an even bigger one when it comes to our fertility! Guest guest
Yeah, for sure! Certainly couldn't hurt. Alfalfa has the added bonus of being really high in vitamin K, which is especially good when the mother is preparing for labour as it helps to make sure she doesn't hemmorhage. You could combine a whole load of teas and get all sorts of benefits, but I think that rc and rrl work synergistically somehow, which is why they are always spoken about together. Guest guest
Your physician said she does not " think " you have endometriosis!!! Are you financially unable to have testing done or is it that you don't want to do so? There is a reason that you have dysmenorrhea. As for endometriosis, a definitive diagnosis requires a laparoscopy with a pathology examination. I hope you are able to find the cause and, therefore, relief.
