depression and went to see my naturopath. She suggested 5-htp and increasing my

omega-3's in my diet. It definetly helped. I am sure that in the severe case

your boyfriend it will take more, but maybe these can relieve him a bit. My

sister was taking prescription antidepressants and they rob you of your spirit.

I hope all goes well for you both.

Hi-

I am so sorry that your boyfriend has been going through such hell. I

know you said he has been to many doctors, but I would strongly

recommend he go and see a psychopharmacologist. A good psychopharm

will be able to treat him more effectively than a family doc, etc.

These psychoparms are medical doctors trained in psychiatry and

pharmacology and have a better succeess rate when it comes to finding

the right meds.... At this point, since your boyfriend is in such an

acute state of depression, I don't think the herbal remedies will do

the trick. In any case, diet is a contributing facotr. He should cut

out as much sugar and simple carbs as possible, limit caffeine intake,

and up the protein. I suffer from depression and anxiety...I have

found when I am in a " state " my body craves carbs which only seems to

fuel the fire. I would also recommend Tai Chi, and or yoga (if he'll

do it)...also accupuncture to get his " chi " (energy) flowing. Does he

exercise? A good brisk 30 min. daily walk may help release some

endporphins....One last thing...Reiki healing...defintely good for what

ails you....

Hope he feels better soon-

Alison
