Ear Infection Help!

Hi,

You could try aromatherapy - Use a drop of Lavender (Lavendula

Angustifolia) on some cottonwool & make a plug of it to place in the

ear. Use Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum Nobile) in a warm compress on

the side of the face (Do not pore the oil directly into the ear).

If there is no improvement within 24hrs or you develop a fever or if

you have pus appear from your ear you may need to seek other help.

Hope this helps - as there is nothing worse than an earache.

Regards

Chew sugar free gum with xylitol in it. I think Trident has

it in there as a sweetener. In some studies, Xylitol cleared

up ear infections in children. Xylitol prevents bacteria from

'sticking' to mucous membranes.

Gargle with some water with xylitol dissolved in it. You

could also garlgle with Listerine as it will kill any

bacteria that could travel from your throat to your inner

ears.

You also should take a decongestant as ear infections often

originate in the sinus/throat area & travel to the ear via

the eustation tube & it when it gets stopped up due to

congestion, it can't drain.

Probiotics, and stop if you drink dairy or anything with a high

amount of sugar like soda and candy.

I used to have troubles with my ear, a eustachaen tube problem but

since Ive gotten good enteric coated probiotics and drink a lot of

water it's helped. oh and one of those saline spray/drops that you can

get at walmart for a dollar help to clear me up.

To prevent ear infections in both adults and children, make a mixture

of equal parts Vinegar and Isopropyl Alcohol and place a drop or two

in each ear after showers, etc. when the ears are exposed to water.

The alcohol dries any water in the ear and the vinegar creates a low

acidic environment where bacteria cannot grow. I suffered from

chronic ear infections for years until I found this remedy a couple

of years ago and have had only 1 since then. I got a spray bottle

from my local pharmacy and use about 1/4 cup to 1/4 cup and keep it

handy for use after every shower.

Last couple times I had an earache, I chopped up an onion, wrapped it

in a cotton handkerchief and held it to my ear for a long time. Could

feel the vapors sort of " burning " , and it helped a lot.
