Guest guest
Hi I am new to the group and wondering if anyone has any advice on natural products for neuopathy. My left foot mostly burns/tingles horribly without medication. I use Lyrica for the pain, but the drug seems to lose its effectiveness the longer you use it (like a narcotic you seem to develop a tolerance) I would love to find something more natural, I hate taking all these meds. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks Roxanne

My left foot mostly burns/tingles > horribly without medication. Neuropathy is nerve damage, ususally caused by diabetes. Alpha Lipoic Acid will help a LOT. Take at least 300 mg a day. All diabetics should be taking at least 600 mg a day of alpha lipoic acid. I get mine from www.swansonvitamins.com they have a 300 mg capsule at a good price...sometimes they have a sale on it, too. Also vitamin B6 will help. Fish oil will help, also Gingko Biloba & Grapeseed extract. All these help the circulation in your legs. Guest guest
Hi, Roxanne, Limp as fast as you can to your nearest acupuncturist. Also, there is a homeopathic myelin sheath remedy; but you should be checked by a homeopath, first. You can do these two therapies together. Check with the kind people at your local health food store to see if there is an acupuncturist or homeopath in your area that they would recommend. If not, you can find a homeopath near you at http://www.homeopathy.org. I'm not sure if there is a similar site for acupuncturists. You can also work with a naturopath to establish a supplement regimen that will not interact with the meds. Again, check with the health food store or google " natural colleges " . Many have graduates listed on their web site. My naturopath graduated from Trinity College of Natural Health, and she is a caring, knowledgeable practitioner. Best of Luck, I know this is painful; but there is hope.
