Hi, Jerry.

The information you gave about lycopene and green tea polyphenols

flies directly in the face of what ABC's " Dr. Dean " Edell said just

last week, and well it should! " Dr. Dean " said that " nothing taken

by mouth will destroy cancer, and anyone who tries to sell you

something that supposedly does so is committing a criminal act. "

The only possible way I would give him any slack at all is over the

phrase " destroy cancer. " I am not sure alternative

treatments " destroy " cancer, but that is why they work, and

mainstream treatments don't, because trying to " destroy " cancer also

destroys a person's immune system!

But certainly with regard to HEALING from cancer, there are any

number of things which, when taken by mouth heal cancer. Even some

chemo " therapy " drugs, (which generally do not heal cancer), are

taken by mouth. Hundreds or thousands of years before there was

a " Dr. Dean, " aboriginal peoples on all continents were taking

things by mouth to heal from cancer.

Here is a link to what " Dr. Dean " says about what one urologist said

to do for an enlarged prostate:

http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/deanfulltexttopics.cfm?

The urologist recommended masturbation " to relieve pressure and to

shrink the prostate gland. " That is ridiculous. An enlarged prostate

needs rest, not exercise!

Dr. Dean also says, " I have never seen anyone get sick from having

too many orgasms. " I suppose he thinks he is being cute! First of

all, he, like 99.9% of urologists, does not know the difference

between " ejaculation " and " orgasm. " Each can happen independently of

the other. Secondly, he does not acknowledge that too many

ejaculations in a row, especially via masturbation, can irritate and

enflame the prostate and the genitals, and even cause infection and

other problems with the prostate.

Finally, note at the end of his answer, that " Dr. Dean " does not

know the difference between " phenomena " and " phenomenon. " That looks

like a small thing, but it says plenty to me.

The man is a menace. It's a great shame so many people listen to his

show regularly and take his word as gospel.

Best wishes,

Elliot

shown to fight other cancers, could slow the growth of prostate

cancer cells. And the polyphenols appear to be quickly absorbed in

human prostate tissue, according to the researchers at the

University of California at Los Angeles. They were able to detect

the compounds in prostate tissue after a very limited consumption of

tea.
