" The study was done at the Dept. of Cardiology, Catholic Univ., Rome. -- *Clinical Pearls News Added note: I recall, years ago, reading dental research showing that an hour or so after replacing a Hg filling, the dentist's blood contained an average of 70 times more Hg than before. Mercury (Hg) is the most toxic non-radioactive element on earth. 2. A silver colored Hg amalgam filling normally contains 52% Hg. 3. On average, an amalgam filling weighs 1 gram and contains ½ gram of Hg. 4. The typical adult carries ten amalgam fillings containing about 5 grams of Hg. 5. ½ gram of Hg in a ten acre lake would warrant issuance of a fish advisory for the lake.
