Guest guest
Hi Liz, I have a strange but true remedy for eczema... Fava beans. Like I said, strange. I discovered these beans as a remedy by accident. First of all, I have peripheral neuropathy, which is similar to multiple sclerosis. This winter, it got so bad, all I did was sit in my chair and shake and cry. Because of the shaking, I looked up parkinson's on the web. It is caused by a lack of dopamine, a " feel good/less pain " chemical in the brain, one of the endorphins. It is treated with L-dopa, a precursor to dopamine. The article went on to say, that fava beans contained more L-dopa than the leading prescription, but nobody wants to be cured by a bean. Well, I found some fava beans at an Italian grocery store on the down side of town. I bought a pound of them, and put a handful in water to soak, like you woud do bean sprouts. (Soaking brings the bean to life) The next day, I ate 2 beans (raw)at breakfast, lunch, and supper. They taste a bit like chestnuts. It helped with pain. Really, in 1 day. I know this sounds off track, but bear with me. I have been eating fava beans for about a month now, and i am able to walk again. A side effect of L--dopa, it would seem, is the production of HGH in the pituitary gland. HGH is being researched as an anti-aging miracle. HGH injections are by prescription, and cost thousands of $$$$$$. after puberty, HGH production is slowed down or stopped, and we begin to age. HGH repairs tissue throughout the body. My skin is soft and smooth, like it was 30 years ago. My nails and hair are thicker. I used to have scaley legs and feet, they were terrible, and also in my scalp, but it has all cleared up, and you would never have believed it had been otherwise. Fava beans cleared up my eczema! Who would have thought a simple bean could do that? FAva beans seem to be a cure all, because of the HGH benefit. They help the body to cure itself. We've been told that our bodies were made to repair itself, given the right nutrients. Fava has those nutrients, and really does help with just about anything! Do a search on fava, and l-dopa, and HGH and see what comes up. FYI NOTE: One thing though, there is a very rare chromosomal disorder called favism, that strikes some people of ancient greek origin. People with favism are terribly allergic to fava beans. Again, this is very rare, and a blood test can be taken to detect it. People with favism lack the G6PD enzyme. I look at it this way. There are people who are deathly allergic to peanuts, yet peanut butter is sold on every grocery shelf. windflower fyrespryte <fyrespryte wrote: Anyways I came here specificaly to see if I could find a natural cure for eczema. It's been recuring since I was a kid generaly brought on by stress or harsh chemicals. I'd like a way to control it or make it go away completely.
