Guest guest
Liz, I'm sure you'll get lots of responses to your message. Here's mine. In my experience, eczema is the outcome of a food allergy. I would say that 80% of the cases are caused by allergies to grains, particularly wheat. It is also increased by sugar use. I know it's bloody hard to avoid these things, but I have been treating my eczema effectively this way -- meaning I only have outbreaks when I go off my diet. In my case, I have gotten to where I can usually eat grains if I keep it down (way below the American average consumption) but if I have any significant amount of sugar at the same time, I have an outbreak. There are a number of doctors who can accurately diagnose this issue. They have their own group -- it used to be called the Society for Clinical Ecology, I have no idea what the present name is. But their methods are considerably more accurate than your standard allergist. Even so, it's a lot cheaper to try elimination of the potential food sources... but you have to read labels carefully, you'd be amazed what they sneak wheat and sugar into. That's my $0.02. I hope it helps. Hugs, Moss fyrespryte <fyrespryte wrote: Hello, my name is liz and I am brand new to this board. A little bit about me...I am 25 and a massage therapy student. I graduate in august Yayy!! Anyways I came here specificaly to see if I could find a natural cure for eczema. It's been recuring since I was a kid generaly brought on by stress or harsh chemicals. In massage I am constantly using lotion and germicide which seems to be aggravating it. I'd like a way to control it or make it go away completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
