Guest guest
Hello, my name is liz and I am brand new to this board. A little bit about me...I am 25 and a massage therapy student. I graduate in august Yayy!! Anyways I came here specificaly to see if I could find a natural cure for eczema. It's been recuring since I was a kid generaly brought on by stress or harsh chemicals. In massage I am constantly using lotion and germicide which seems to be aggravating it. I'd like a way to control it or make it go away completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Liz If you use a search engine and put in eczema + Sunlight you should come up with thousands of 'hits' like: http://www.health-report.co.uk/psoriasis_eczema_sunlight.html " I thought that this was an important piece of science that documented the value of UV light, which is a normal part of sunlight that most people avoid like the plague, as they believe it causes cancer. However, we need sunshine to stay healthy. If we don't get a regular dose of sunshine our health will suffer. I am fully convinced that the reason most of us get sick more in the winter is that our sunshine exposure is decreased. One should not have excessive exposure, however, as that is dangerous. One should be outside for one hour a day, if at all possible. There are 1500 wavelengths of light that will hit your retina and supply you with an essential component of staying healthy. The chemicals you apply just will totally exacerbate the existing problems. I believe that the most important thing you can do to correct this condition is to eliminate ALL the chemicals from your life (if at all possible) and purchase a more natural hand/face soap at your health food stores (aloe based soaps esp,. are very healing!). There are numerous chemicals in our water supply as well. I would suggest cleansing your face only with natural soaps and spring water until the irritation subsides. In addition, allow your skin to rest. Whenever chemicals clog our pores this way, there can be no healing! Our skin breathes through our pores! We must keep them clean and free in order the skin to heal. I would advise that you give your skin a rest! Diet is extremely important in controlling ezcema as well. Fried greasy foods, refined sugar, soda pop and chocolate should all be excluded for healthy skin. The standard american diet of fries, chips, caffeine and chocolates puts extra stress on our liver because of their toxic additives and unhealthy oils. I would also advise that you add more healthy fats to your diet in the form of essential fatty acids (alaskan salmon, sardines) and extra virgin olive oils. An imbalance of omega 3s and omega 6s are usually problematic in these areas. The health of your skin reflects your inner health. True beauty always comes from within. A more natural fresh foods diet provides us truly healthy skin. If the body has too many toxins to deal with, it will try to get rid of them one way or another and this is a very good thing really. When they stay in the body they usually cause cancer and other terminal illnesses. When the liver becomes overloaded with an overabundance of toxins, your body usually gets rid of them by eliminating them through the skin. You really can be thankful that your body is taking this way of dealing with the problem. If these toxins weren't eliminated from your body, they undoubtedly may cause more severe life-threatening problems. For more ideas on ways to rid yourself of toxins, it may be a good idea to visit our alternative medicine message boards and read all the messages on the detox forum. There is a wealth of material gathered there! www.alternative-medicine-message-boards.info Hugs, JoAnn
