Guest guest
I'm inclined to think that everyone's immune system has been compromised, to varying degrees. Those degrees vary by amount of contamination and by susceptibility/predisposition to disease. So even members of the same family, living in the same household, do not have identical disorders, because their exposure as well as their genetic code varies. I don't understand why people should say you should not boost your immune system if you have rheumatoid arthritis. I have arthritis, although it does not appear to be the rheumatoid variant, and I routinely take glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM for it, among other things. I have not noticed it to become worse when on these. I have seen many people with the bent back and crippled hands of RA. And I once cared for an elderly woman with RA for about two months. She was permanently stiffened into a sitting position. She had never taken vitamins or minerals or herbs, and then took only pain meds as needed. Of course, her RA developed years before the connection between processed foods and disease was recognized. I have found, in answering customer complaints at work, that people are often told something as if it were fact and then, rather than ask for clarification from the person(s) telling them this, they go to another source (my office, in this instance) and invariably ask them *why* that person(s) said what they said. And as I invariably tell them, go to the source. If John Smith claims that something is good for you or bad for you, then it is John Smith you need to ask Why. If he hems and haws and can't quote chapter and verse, say thank you but no thank you, get your facts straight before you start pushing your allegations off on others. If he Can quote chapter and verse, write it down. Say thank you and Then go prove or disprove it on your own. Don't take anyone's word for granted. In other words, call his bluff. Make him put up or shut up. It's your body and your life. Do what YOU think feels best. Guest guest
Hello Nancy, If you are boosting your immune system with lots of vitamins, minerals and good nutrition (and that means reading and digesting all the information on the http://www.alternative-medicine-message-boards.info) and also getting some sunlight great keep it up.If you are boosting constantly with herbs etc., maybe not so good because when the time comes and you need the herbs for an acute condition they may not work so well. just my thoughts. you have to read all the conflicting information available and make up your own mind. Take control of your health. Best wishes Chris _________ Messenger - Communicate instantly... " Ping " your friends today!
