Guest guest
I am allergic to citric acid. Well I don't know if allergic is the right term or not but I can't drink it or eat very much at all before I break out(the only time I have acne is when I have eaten or drank citric acid). I really love oranges, grapefruit, etc and would love to eat them. Is there something that I can take that will counteract the symptoms or that will totally nuetralize the citric acid? P.S. I have taken L-Lysine to help with the break out but it doesn't seem to do much.
Guest guest
I wonder if it's an allergy or if your body is just clensing with a vengence when you eat citrus? A friend of mine who had a treatment center in Australia said that citrus fruits were a very good source for clensing juices, but that they had to be used in very small doses and then built up to because the clensing effect could go way too fast otherwise - breakouts, stomach discomfort, diarhea, fatigue, etc. Others here may know better than I though. Guest guest
I could be wrong but I don't think it is a cleansing effect as I only had about 6 oz and that was the first time in months that I had had any citric acid. I do react to all citric acid such as in juices as well as the fruit itself. Hmm, I never thought about trying it in other forms to see. I will have to check to see if I would be allergic to the Organic Sweet Orange or Organic Neroli EO that I have. If I am truely allergic to citric acid, I would be allergic to that as well. That would rule out pesticides and help determine more. I will let you know. Also what it is I break out with acne in my scalp and ulcers in the mouth. They get very, very sore. , David Thomas <dathomas@s...> wrote: > Hi Nancy, > > Thursday, February 12, 2004, 7:14:40 AM, you wrote: > > N> I am allergic to citric acid.
