Guest guest
Mary, Two years ago I was told I needed peridontal treatment from a peridontal surgeon. I was having a lot of pain, constant infection in my gums really bad. I've had surgery before and no desire to go through such ever again. I'd rather have my teeth all pulled. So I didn't. This was at the time of my conversion to healthier lifestyle - most particularly diet and nutrition. I went low carb (Atkins) which meant NO sugar, I eat mainly fresh vegatables, cheeses, and meat. I started nutrients - the one without a doubt most helpful for my gums was Coenzyme Q-10. I dug deep and found it recommended for peridontal problems, I can't remember where now. It did take a while but my gums got better and better. Not long ago I added a Sonicare toothbrush. They are expensive, it is technology (sorry Frank) but it is incredible - I'm in love with it. My teeth have been super sensitive for about 15 years. My gums actually feel good now since I started using it. Hydrogen peroxide is the best I found for a rinse when you have peridontal problems. There is a new product by Colgate called Peroxyl - it is a hydrogren peroxide base with mint flavor. It's probably not any better than the plain hydrogen peroxide but tastes better, I love that product too. Again I apologize Frank - I know the brush and wash are not alternative treatments but for anyone who has had peridontal problems and pain as I have, I have to recommend what I feel has really really helped me. Guest guest
Hi Mary; I used homeopathic remedies, also had an abscess and used a mixture of Hepar sulph, Silica, Pyrogenium and Arnica and started at 30C. Eventually got a biological root canal done on the abscessed tooth (about 6 months after it started as finding a dentist to do took time) but the infection pain was well controlled with the remedies, just could not clear the tooth abscess. Gums were in great shape. I had also pain for years for my teeth and with timeline and chronic miasm treatment got rid of the pain (for me it was Tuberculinum that cleared it but the healing reaction was the clue that the teeth pain was connected to it). I used a Heilkunst type homeopath for the homeopathic treatment. This type of Heilkunst practioners are available at http://www.homeopathy.com/clinic/practitioners.html They work at distance, take in lifestyle, diet and give therapeutic education and the homeopathic remedies are included in the consult, but the shipping is extra but minimal as they do not weigh much. http://www.homeopathy.com/clinic/heilkunsttreatment.html http://www.heilkunst.com/ info www.homeopathy.com I was so impressed at my improvement in health that I am taking a 4 year course to become a practioner and am loving it. I've found materials on just about any disease I could think of, but next to nothing on peridontal disease. Thanks in advance, Mary
Guest guest
Mary, The " Remedy " for periodontal disease is to get at the CAUSE of the problem. Gum disease is caused by germ colonies growing on the teerh - plaque. We need to build our resistive capacity to these germs - our immune system.. We need to have i mmaculate oral hygiene, Thorough brushing cleans about 80% of the surfaces of our teeth. 80% of dental disease starts on the other 20% of our tooth surfaces. For that important 20% we need Bass Technic Flossing. Regular flossing helps remove food particles. Bass Technic Flossing removes the plaque germ colonies growing in between the teeth. Tunnel Vision Remedies make you think you're doing something - but the diesease progresses unless you remove the growinig plaque germs. . Guest guest
For a free report on why I do not approve of the Sonicare brush device, reply with your pob or street address - to jmittelman I feel it can cause you problems! Peroxide is also NG. - It will kill surface bacteria and at the same time decalcify tooth root surfaces, cause sensitivity over time - which will bring on other problems. See my previous posting on gum disease. We have a report Having Great Gums, which is available to our newsletter readers.
