Harsh laxatives certainly aren't going to improve the situation at all. In fact, they may very well be at the root of her problems. Dairy, even organic dairy can be very problematic! She may want to cut down on Dairy for a period of time. Ginger is quite good for alleviating nausea and is an excellent carminative as well. Try ginger tea or grated ginger root mixed up in a smoothie. Pears and celery are very alkaline in nature. If some of her problems stem from overacidity they will help to conteract it. Brown rice and unripe bananas are typically soothing to the digestive tract. Herbal licorice (DGL), either in a tea or supplement is also very effective and can be used unless she has high blood pressure. ( should not be used if you have even a hint of HBP) Whenever laxative is needed I would recommend cascara sagrada, although if you have a juicer, fresh juices would be a top priority on the list. Beets are very cleasning when combined with a few carrots or celery stalks. Apples and pineapple are tops for enzymes! I surely hope she doesn't resort to OTC antacids or pharmaceutical drugs. In my opinion, one can deal with it effectively using natural remedies and without all those ever- lingering side effects! Cheers, JoAnn
