Guest guest
My elderly father has numerous health conditions & no energy. Because of diabetes he can't have sugars, potatoes, corn, too much fruit, etc. Because of kidney failure he can't do bananas, oranges, too much dairy or protein, etc. Because he's on Coumadin, (a rat poison blood thinner), he can't eat green vegetables or anything high in Vit.K. The guy can't eat anything nutritious & still none of his doctors will condone the use of supplements, not even a multi- vitamin. I say give him the supplements anyway. He has such a poor quality of life already. The rest of my family obey the doctors & say I would be held responsible if supplements should somehow harm him. I have taken him to a chiropractor who specilizes in nutrition. The traditional doctors will not recognize his expertise. What's a person to do? I fight this frustrating battle in my family, alone, daily. I forward lots of the interesting articles from this forum to family & friends. Many think I'm a fruit cake! My mother thinks I'm obsessed. You can't educate people who don't want to be educated.
