Guest guest
Evening Joann, I generally post a warning when I post mainstream and biased articles. If any article contains even one sentence that references old, out dated information, I am suspect of the complete article. I did follow the link to see where it originated. Also, remember the name of this list is.... Alternative Medicine Forum, which is an antonym with virtually all mainstream information. >Health Risks of High-Protein Diets >Misunderstandings and Deceptive Statements >Health Risks of High-Protein Diets How can any mainstream medical site offer such titles? Misunderstanding and Deceptive Statements is their motto. They live and will die by it. Their Name suggests medicine. Ok.... so we know food is medicine. I think their use of medicine means something else. >> High-protein diets typically skew nutritional intake toward higher- >than-recommended amounts of dietary cholesterol, fat, saturated fat, >and protein and very low levels of fiber and some other protective >dietary constituents. They are picking on Atkins when they cannot even spell Atkins. > The Nutrition Committee of the Council on >Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Metabolism of the American Heart >Association states, American Heart Association? I never believe anything that they suggest or sanction. How many years behind do you figure they are? 20, 30, or 50 ? >Legal Liability >Given the possibility of health risks that may occur with long-term >use of high-protein diets, clinicians who prescribe such diets may >put themselves into a position of potential legal liability. How many read the article suggesting that doctors sue the medical schools for not being taught what they paid to learn? >> In order to assist consumers and consulting clinicians, the >Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has established a >registry for individuals who have elected to follow high-protein >diets or have been prescribed them by practitioners. Read more about " Physicians for Responsible Medicine " http://www.pcrm.org/ They appear to be a bunch of Tree Hugging Vegetarians. My opinion, form you own. >Individuals >signing onto the registry can report their experience with such >diets and will find information on medical research and on legal >issues that may relate to liability. Everyone overlooks the fact the Powers that control the world do not want us to eat meat, period. I suspect that these powers have full control over many groups like this one. I ate venison for breakfast, trailmix for lunch, and salmon for supper. That does not make me a vegetarian does it? Also had hot biscuits and honey with the salmon. Had to get a few grams of carbs from something, else the protein may kill me. Wayne

I have never told anyone to stop eating meat. It is beneficial to cut down on quantities however when trying to repair the damage which evolved from allopathic drug use and certain serious illnesses. The warnings were interspersed throughout the entire article. These studies are not skewed. They are based on facts. For someone to throw out facts and figures just because they come from an allopathic source in my opinion, is not very wise. We will never change the system, however we can offer a better way to those who are searching. Certainly we must all determine our own course of action. Just because you are blessed with health, does not mean your diet would work for everyone. We need to be reminded of where we are coming from. I certainly don't agree with allopathic medicines underhanded tactics but they do have the studies to back these statements. This material never becomes outdated. Facts are facts, irregardless and we must rely on them for diagnostics if nothing else. .. I have never taken allopathic drugs and have never darkend the door of any of their facilities other than to give birth . Allopathic medicine is not my way of life. I believe there is a better way and we must concern ourselves with finding our solutions. I'm happy to hear that you have found yours. There are others who are not so fortunate. I have been told that this list was started to help in these areas. I wish to emphasize the postitive, rather than the negative. I just cannot advocate these high protein diets for anyone. I make no apologies for this. There are many who will persist on them to the utter detriment of their health. There are SO many abnormalites that are closely linked to America's high protein diets. God Bless, JoAnn > They appear to be a bunch of Tree Hugging Vegetarians.
