Guest guest
Sun May Help MS Sufferers Provided by Coventry Evening Telegraph on 1/15/2004 SUNSHINE may act as protection against the progression of multiple sclerosis, according to new research. A study comparing 5,000 MS sufferers and 430,000 other people found that skin cancer rates - which is linked to sun exposure - were lower among those with MS. It follows a US study earlier this week which suggested that women who take vitamin D supplements are 40 per cent less likely to develop MS. Vitamin D is sometimes called the sunshine vitamin because sunlight triggers a chemical reaction in the body leading to vitamin D production. The latest study was carried out by the Institute of Health Sciences in Oxford. © 2004 Coventry Evening Telegraph. via ProQuest Information and Learning Company; Hotjobs: Enter the " Signing Bonus " Sweepstakes
