Wayne,

He used not only the " ideal weight " per the charts, but also by looking at me -

I have temporal muscle wasting, you can see every rib I own, as well as quite a

few other skeletal tissues, and a lot of veins... I agree with your statement

about letting God and nature decide what is healthy. I am having a hard time

though as I have been told by pretty much everyone I have not seen in a while

that I look wasted, and that as I have very little fat reserves I need to

regain. Also, some of my body functions are altered due to the low weight. I am

not trying to maintain weight to guarantee health, I to the why kill

yourself to make a great looking corpse? theory.... I have been on a raw food,

organic and low carbohydrate diet for quite some time. I do not eat refined

foods, sugars, fruit juices, etc. I have increased my carbohydrate intake with a

lot of oatmeal, potatoes, and fruits (organic of course).

What is wrong with me - well to make a long story short - was diagnosed with

Arsenic and Mercury poisoning, started chelation, and lost about 25 lbs. My

physician then stopped the treatments as I was not responding as I should have.

I am supposed to gain weight before he will restart the chelation, as he does

not feel I can handle the stresses it causes....

Thank you for any and all advice and recommendations - they are a tremendous

boost to my hope. I am grateful for everything and anything you have to offer,

and all is valued.

Windflower -LOL! I know, I know..... I have added Ezekial bread to my diet

repertoire, and I LOVE raw nuts - I will just keep on eating them! Thank you for

your help!

Diet Question, Body Weight

>My question - I need to gain about 18 lbs to be considered a " normal " body

>weight.

How did you or your doctor determine the correct body weight?

How could either of you do a better calculation than the master chemist

in the body.

Maintaining the ideal body weight is no insurance, suggestion or

guarantee of health.

I have seen people killing themselves to gain or loose a few pounds.

I ask them, " just where did you read that because you are the right body

weight, you are healthy " .

You could have other problems, possibly serious, ( I hope not ) that

lead to the body weight solution. If so, please tell us about them.

The " age old wisdom " of Adelle Davis said, do a 3 or 4 month diet to

build health first.

So, I guess you have done that already.

Well, that is a wonderful start....potatoes and such are excellent forms of

healthier carbs. Have you thought about incorporating some protein? Or is that

not an option?? I am not familiar with the pysical damage done by such

poisoning, but since you are into raw foods, you can still add them into protein

drinks, the spirulina, wheatgrass, or whatever it is you prefer to keep yourself

healthy with. But the protein will facilitate muscle gain as opposed to fat.

Just my 2 cents as well...smile...Love..
