For the milk thistle, I steep 1 tablespoon in just finished boiling hot water for about 15 minutes and make an infusion. However I have also been adding straight ground milk thistle to blender drinks. I'm not sure if it is as effective without the heat or soaking. Buying whole milk thistle seed is VERY economical compared to the capsules. David
Guest guest
Hi Vicki. Milk thistle seeds do not taste bad. you can just chew up a few as is, and save time and money on gel caps. If you grind up a batch, they will lose freshness. I just eat 3 or 4 seeds each day. They are large enough to be chewed. windflower cinaminmomma <cinaminmomma wrote: can I use a coffee grinder to grind the seeds and then just buy jell caps and do it myself? This seems the most economical and trustworth (iykwim) way. But I have never seen the seeds before and I don't know if a coffee grinder will do the trick.
