Guest guest
I would like to know when and where CoQ10 was classed as a drug. The UK has much higher restrictions on the sale of 'drugs' than the US and CoQ10 is readily available, thankfully at the moment, in pretty high strengths. If it was classed as a drug, there is absolutely no way we would be able to buy it otc. I personally know that the use of CoQ10 is an absolute necessity in certain circumstances, the primary one being anyone who is put on statins as I was. I am sure that age plays a big part as well, we know that certain vitamins/minerals/nutrients are in short supply once we reach a certain age, that is what causes all those age problems. To advise people to stop a supplement or to insinuate that they are taking a drug is irresponsible to say the least at this time of the year. It is now when those of us who are unlucky enough to not be in prime health, risk catching all sorts of bugs and things. I would recommend anyone who is thinking that what they are taking is not beneficial, to research totally before they remove any supplement from their diet. Unfortunately, we all know that we cannot rely on our food source for the correct range of nutrients that everybody needs, even with good organic food, we are definitely not getting everything because the earth has been starved of what it needs for too long and depleted by artificial insecticides and fertilisers. There is also the fact that some have had viruses that impede the absorbtion of certain nutrients and even though we feel fine, could be building up to a massive shock. I recently found out that I am lacking in 3 nutrients due to this phenomena and it has been going on for many years un-be-known to me. Marianne The " B " Vitamins are critical for the more basic conversions of EFA's into the energy producing make up of cell membranes which must include saturated fats. Getting the balance of all the proper EFA's, FA's, minerals along with needed vitamins is the real answer - not treating a symptom (shortage of coq10). Don't we know by now that drugs that only treat symptoms eventually cause system failure. Great sources: 'B' vitamins = nutritional yeast minerals = Unprocessed Sea Salt - the complete mineral spectrum and in perfect balance for our bodys!
