Guest guest
Although I find it rather puzzling how anyone can say: don't do this or don't do that, in this case: don't take any suppplements. Many of the alternative medicine sites provide ample information for those wanting to know more about a particular supplement. Give them references to articles in case they would like to learn more about a certain supplement, the why's and why-nots and how's of statins. Even if CoQ10 has been out only 10 years, please learn more why this might be the case. It is not that long ago either that it was discovered that statins - on the best selling if not the best selling drug - deplete CoQ10 in the body. For those that trust their allopathic doctor who have been, and still are, prescribing statins as if there is no tomorrow, CoQ10 (synthetic or not) is a necessary supplement, until they become educated and find alternative ways to deal with high blood pressure. It would be better if statins would be substituted by good solid dietary and life style advise but hey, we all know that there is no money in it for the pharmaceutical industry. So doctors won't bother (I know, this is too general a statement, there still are some great doctors out there). So if I may give some advise: don't tell people what is good or bad outright, give them information to read, stimulate education. This is only my 2 cts worth Hanneke ~ Australia Coq10 has only been out about 10 years and has been EXTREMELY HYPED!!! Remember the HYPE on How Healthy Hydrogenated oil is for you " HEART HEALTHY " ?? I do! Rick
