Guest guest
I want to apologize for a response I send about a week ago to a woman who was suffering from allergy symptoms. I suggested that she read the book " The Cure For All Diseases " by Hulda Clark. That was the absolute worst advise I could have given. If you have or have had any thought of buying the book Please see: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Cancer/clark.html
Guest guest
Dave, actually, the worst advice you can give is to tell people to visit, or believe anything on the quackwatch site. The perpetrator of the site and leading opponent of alternative medicine is Dr. Baratz. He was recently totally discredited in Wisconsin and the site is a compendium of so-called horror stories about alternative medicine as well as his personal and biased opinions. See if you can find anything on that site about allopathic quacks. You won't. I hope you were just trying to be helpful rather than a shill for the pharma companies who fund the site. Guest guest
Dr. Clark is not a subject that is supposed to be discussed on this list. However, that anyone on this list would seriously offer quackwatch as an authoritative source of information blows my mind. Anyone doing anything not totally in acceptance of NIH, FDA, and AMA is almost certain to be listed on quackwatch; with distorted reports to keep anyone from really looking at what present standard protocols are doing to folks, by keeping us ignorant of any of the effective alternatives. Guest guest
I'm trying to find answers and, as I said, I found the site last night and the article on Dr. Clark looked very ligitamate. I had no idea they were so corrupt. Thank you for explaining this to me. Now I'm just wondering, if this is an alternative medicine forum why is Hulda not to be discussed? Guest guest
OK, you're right, I just went to the quack watch web site and read some other articles, it blew me away. I believe they are sick and dangerous people. On Fri, 12 Dec 2003 08:38:01 -0600 " Sara Mandal-Joy " <sarajoy writes: > Dr. Clark is not a subject that is supposed to be discussed on this > list. Guest guest
What a ridiculous statement to make by Rick. " stay away from things like CoQ10 and melatonin " ??? What research have you been reading?? Those are two unquestionably effective and health enhancing supplements! I don't usually have time to respond to many of the posts on here, but I think that in future what I will stay away from is any ideas posted by Rick. Research confirms that Co-q10 aids natural production rather than " messing it up " !! Regards, Penny
Guest guest
I have never used melatonin but I passed part of the message on to a friend of mine who does and she was so appreciative as she feels it has been causing her problems. Like I say, I am not voicing an opinion one way or the other but the article rang so loud and clear to her that she is OFF of it now. I will try to remember to post how she feels about things in a week or so. Her quote to me was " no wonder my hormones are going wild. " Blessings to all of you who furnish us with such good info. Guest guest
Whew...thanks for that Mike. I read that post, and that was my first thought...more anti alternative healing mumbo jumbo. Though, I do believe the poster was sincere in trying to help. Glad I am not the only one that felt that way... Blaze Herbs for Health?? Guest guest
I have used melatonin, and have recommended it to others at times. It is quite good as a gentle sleep aide for those who are over 40. As I understand it, as we age the pineal gland, which is related to sleep, produces less of a hormone, and melatonin helps when this is the cause of insomnia. What actually and experientially know is that I go without sleep for week or so, and typically sleep only about 4 hours a night at best. When I get tired enough of this, 1 to 3 mgs at night will help me sleep. When I do this for a few days, I no longer need the supplement for months. So a bottle (cost about $7.00) will last forever. I have observed no ill effects, and certainly there is no drug-like sedation or mind altering effect. One of the studies I had read regarded alzheimers patients in a facility. Up to 9 mg a day were given Within a short period behaviors that were seen as troublesome- the product of anxiety, depression, and little sleep (sundowning)- greatly diminished…my guess is that anyone who is sleep deprived long enough is going to be cranky. But, someone had recently mentioned another remedy ( I think it is in the archives) which is also quite effective. I use skullcap, valeriana, and hops to make a very relaxing tea. (Steep the valeriana in cold water overnight. Don’t boil it as the essential oils will evaporate).
