The Importance of Enzymes

I would like to express some of what I have heard about enzymes.

With all of the cooking and processing of food what enzymes are there

are killed. Since most food is no longer allowed to ripen naturally

these foods do not have any enzymes in them as well.

If you have ever had a home grown fresh tomato for example and cut it

open you can smell the tomato. If you go to the store and buy a

tomato and cut it open what do you smell. If you go to a store that

has produce do you smell the produce?

Lets look at a different example. You have 2 tomatoes. One you get

from the store and one from your garden. You place both on a plate

where they can get some sun and wait a week or two. The store bought

tomato will shrink but the home grown tomato will digest itself. We

often call this self digesting rotting.

We were made to help the digestive process not do the whole thing by

ourselves. Many problems like acid reflux and new food allergies are

caused by a lack of enzymes or a buildup of undigested food. The body

often will give problems as signals but many people just treat the

signals without looking for the root problem. I found a page that has

some info that you may want to read on enzymes. I am not promoting

this site but did like some of their info.

The info below taken from:

What are ENZYMES?

Enzymes are the body's labor force. They are the active construction

and demolition teams that work 24 hours a day to maintain health and

balance in your body. Without enzymes we would be a worthless pile of

lifeless chemical substances, vitamins, minerals, protein and water.

What can ENZYMES do for us?

All our life processes depend on enzyme function. When enzymes are

depleted, so is our vital force and health. We are home to hundreds

of different kinds of enzymes, each absolutely necessary for total

health. Enzymes are perhaps more important than any other active

element as an aid to digestion and health. The body cannot heal

itself of infections or have healthy blood without them.

Proper utilization of nutrients and vitamins cannot occur without the

presence of enzymes. Vitamins often serve as co-enzymes producing

many reactions which promote digestion and other functions of the

body.

One of the most valuable needs for enzymes is to help process iron,

which carries oxygen all over the body to be deposited in the

billions of skin tissue and brain cells.

What are the causes and consequences of ENZYME deficiency?

In cooked foods, 100% of the enzymes are destroyed, approximately 70%

to 85% of the vitamins are destroyed, pesticides and fungicides break

down to form toxic compounds, protein is 50% less assimilable because

of coagulation, and there is an increase in free radical production.

The body compensates by depleting its own reserves of enzymes. Most

people have brittle bones due to lack of enzymes in cooked and

denatured foods. Lack of enzymes is also a major contributing factor

in the development of leukemia.
