Guest guest
Hi Dan: You're a beautiful writer...I appreciate that very much as I like to write as well...it's very therapeutic for me and it's one of only a few things that I can do well. (is it " good " or " well " ??) While I have never experienced the bi-polar stuff, I'm into my 5th year of a horrible Valium withdrawal...I had to check myself into 5 different treatment centers over a four year period to keep from commiting suicide, and those centers cost me at least one quarter of a million dollars. Comcomitantly while in Austen Riggs, in Stockbridge, MA last year, I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and Peripheral Neuropathy. I'm 59 yrs old and was in almost perfect health until I began my Valium withdrawal five years ago. Since then, my health has collapsed and I'm quite a bit less wealthy. I can hardly walk at times. I'm facing certain surgery next year for my stenosis; but, there is no decent treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy. I'm going to try intraveneous gamma globulin beginning next Monday for four days--a very expensive treatment--in hopes that it can cut down my intense foot tingling sensation. Anyway, I didn't mean to get onto my personal health at this time--only to tell you that I like your writing style very much and enjoy your posts to our group. I'm a member of a benzo support group as well, and, tune into that more often than this one. I've hardly posted at all to this group and really feel like an " outside " at this point. Keep on posting to us. Best, Stan in Fort Lauderdale
Guest guest
Dear Stan, I feel for you about your bout with benzos. A lot of people have been damaged by them as well as many other psychotropic meds. A few of them are members here also. You wrote: > " I'm a member of a benzo support group as well, and, tune into that more often > than this one. One possible difference came to mind after reading your message. In your message you seem to be looking to your doctors and the medical industry to be the solution to your health problems where most of us see the doctors and the medical industry as a large part of the the problem. A matter of perspective does change the way that we approach/look at problem solving. May I suggest that you do a search in our archives on benzodiazapines. Or, better yet, how about spending a small amount in comparision to the quarter million already spent to allopaths by going to a good orthomolecular doctor to see if he can't help you get back your health from the damage caused by these drugs. good luck and hope that you get well soon, Frank , rgs555@a... wrote: > Hi Dan: > You're a beautiful writer...I appreciate that very much as I like to write as > well...it's very therapeutic for me and it's one of only a few things that I > can do well.
