Dear Group,

 

Initially I started our Alternative Medicine Forum here ( only then it was

called gettinwell ) at because I wanted a small group to discuss

and share information with a few like minded individuals. At that time the plan

was to keep it small.

 

I had looked for an existing group, but at that time I didn't seem able to

locate a group that I felt covered what I was looking for, so I started this

one. I then invited a few people who I thought might fit in.

 

That was two years ago. We now have at present almost 1,500 members even though

over a couple of hundred were ejected along the way.

 

I wasn't looking for how large we could be, but at what level of information we

could maintain, share, and preserve for reference.

 

A while back it became necessary to decide on a course of action concerning the

direction for us. Should we stay small and restrict membership? Should we

promote it and in that way try to reach as many as possible and in that way try

and effect the most good for all? Should we just delete the group and be glad

for the experience and not have to put more work into it?

 

Well after much inner debate, I decided on trying to reach as many as possible,

if there was sufficient response, support and help from the members.

 

In that same vein I then started the new message boards so that the information

could be reached by people searching the web. So, now I had multiple times the

work and effort. A few members helped a lot. (Maybe even more than a lot) Thank

you. I couldn't have done it without you. (You know who you are.)

 

The message boards have been up a couple of months now. They are doing pretty

good seeing as how they are still in their infancy. As they become more well

known, I believe that they will flower and bloom and eventually surpass this

group in relevency and size.

 

I decided if we were going to try and spread the word that we should really do

it in the best possible way that we can. With that in mind I will tell you that

the message boards are just the first step in a fairly large plan of action to

provide information on alternative health to the internet. The message boards

are the first of many planned sites. I cannot tell any more at this time as it

would be foolhardy to do so.

 

In accordance with trying to reach as many people as possible who might benefit

from the information, I am asking you all to please use the announcement below

to help spread the word. There are millions of others out there who could

benefit from this information. They are being damaged and dieing in large

numbers out of ignorance when some information just might save them. So, please

use then announcement below.

 

Post it on newsgroups. Send it to any newsletters that you belong to. Send it to

any online magazines that you to. Send it to any blog that you read.

Submit it or put it anywhere and everywhere that it is remotely possible to get

more exposure. You all belong to some newsletters, groups, clubs, etc.

 

If you have benefited in some way from the information that you have received

here, it is really necessary that you now give back and help others too. You can

do that by helping spread the word about our new message boards.

 

If you have a website, put a link on it to the new boards. Put an article there

also about it and us. Write an article and submit it to anyone who will publish

it.

 

If you have some special skills that can help, please do so. Writing skills,

publicity skills, etc.

 

It is time to stop asking what this group and these boards can do for you and

now see what you can do for them. It is time to give back. That will be a real

measure of you as a person.

Alternative Health

 

Finally a dedicated alternative medicine message board.

 

New noncommercial (please, no spam) message boards have been established by a

group of volunteers from various segments of the alternative health community to

provide high quality information.

 

The boards cover most areas of alternative health and include alternative mental

health, alternative cancer, health freedoms, and many other areas.

These new boards are a result of the community efforts of various members of the

alternative health community and our alternative medicine forum group at

here.

1400+ members and 16,000+ articles/messages.

 

Our plan is to share the boards with all in the alternative health community who

are of a like minded nature and will participate as moderators, etc..

 

We are doing this to promote a sense of community and a combining of efforts to

educate the people about how to get well and be healthy, as well as to enable

the alternative health community to work together and have a better sense of

community in order to organize, empower it, and educate others.

 

Please understand that the message boards are brand new and have only been up a

few weeks. Most of the time since has been just getting them up and running. We

have about 1800+ articles/messages up at this point.

 

It is an all volunteer effort powered by concerned people with limited

resources. If you would like to see this type of effort grow, please consider

what you can do to help us get more widely known too.

 

We are relying on the good will and the wishes of the alternative health

community to help spread the word and other support.

 

As we become more well known hopefully we will be more effective. You

can help spread the word.
