Guest guest
Hello all. I am requesting help. I have not searched the archives yet, but that is my next stop. I really don't have a lot of time, and thought if someone could offer information now, it would be beneficial. My brother (age 29) had a spinal laminectomy (herniated disc removal) a month ago. Since then he has been re-admitted to the hospital twice. He is unable to walk, having no strength in his legs(specifically knees), he has severe swelling around the surgery site, (spinal?) fluid build up, excruciating pain, and migraines. They told him he has so much scar tissue forming that it is pressing on the nerves. To remedy this they've given him megadoses of steroids; specifically Hexadrol Dexamethasone and Decadron. He is also on Valium, Percoset, Prevacid, Ambien, an antidepressent, and a nicotine patch. The doctors are giving him the run-around. They did some unknown tests, and will receive the results Monday. Meningitis has been ruled out. Until then, they are not available to him. He is scared about what's happening with him. If anyone has any information that could be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it.
