Damaged knee ligament (Anterior Cruciate Ligament).... Please Help me

Last weekend while playing soccer, in the moment of the game, I was

running very fast aside a huge guy & he gave me a strong shoulder

push. The ground was hard & due to lack of ground grip I lost control.

My right knee made a loud crackle sound & that was it I came down to

the ground.

Now after visiting a doctor he suggested that I might have damaged

" Anterior Cruciate Ligament " (ACL). He wants to go through MRI test

for confirmation, which is due for next week.

And he was telling me if the Ligament is damaged then the only way to

fix it is through grafting surgery.

I am really afraid that doctor will open my knee to cure my

problem & I don't want any kind of surgery.

Please help me how I can avoid going for surgery & get my knee cured

through any other alternate treatment.

Thanks

Manu

Hi Manu,

Standard Process sells a supplement that goes by the name

of " ligaplex " which became a lifesaver to my husband and I when he

sustained damaged muscles and ligaments this past year.

This supplement, in addition to maximum amounts of some other

important minerals cured the problem and alleviated his pain.

There is an arthritis creme made by " Jason " containing tea tree oil

that is quite effective for this type of pain.

After taking these supplements over a period of about 4 to 6 weeks

time, his pain disappeared. At the same time he was also taking

magnesium (400mg 2x daily), their B-complex, and Vitamin E (one of

each of the SP E blends)in addition to their zinc and selenium, and

Standard Process best Antioxidant. In the meantime we adhered to an

all organic diet with an abundance of organic veggies, fruit, raw

nuts and extra virgin olive oil for cooking. This in addition to a

balance of essential fatty acids from Udo's oils twice daily.

I am told these products (standard process) are available only from

a very few health food stores (there must be a special request-

they are not allowed to put them on the shelves) or they can be

obtained from some alternative health professionals ( usually an

N.D.or chiropractor). We were lucky, my son obtained them for us.

I also sustained a knee injury five years previous from an

unfortunate slip and fall incident. Both my knees where implicated,

however my right

knee would not bear my weight at all. They dx'd it as a meniscus

tear and sent me home with some pain killers.

Needless to say I did not take the painkillers, not one, but

managed my pain with supplements and diet, nutrition and herbs,

(bromelain in pineapple, turmeric, willow bark (precursor to

aspirin), capsicum, ginger and other herbal remedies).

At this time I was in the process of changing over to an all organic

diet due to some other health problems that had surfaced and much to

my surprise I found that over a very short period of time, my

meniscus tear and ligaments were healed along with all my other

health concerns as well, all from just

changing over to a more healthy organic dairy-free, low-sat.fat,

essential-fat diet. The body when given all the right foods and

nutrients in combination will heal itself in time. The EFAs present

in fresh organic nuts, seeds, veggies (enzymes) provide more healing

than any processed packaged foods ever can!

Dairy,

(other than organic yogurt from an organic source), adversely

affects ligaments,

muscles and bones(mainly from an overabundance of phosphoric acids,

synthetic hormones and antibiotics they contain).

Eliminating refined sugars, carbonated beverages, coffee and other

dehydrating drinks tends to increase immunity. These foods destroy

and deplete essential vitamins and minerals. When we have enough

nutrients it enables our body to repair itself.

The therapist told my husband that his ligaments and muscles were

so damaged and his

bones were so porous and brittle,... partially due to harmful

effects of

milk and carbonated beverages (high in phosphorus and low in

minerals to rebuild damaged tissue) that the bones would

not even support the muscles, which led to excruciating leg pain.

He was not able to walk, sit or lie down without a lot of extra

effort and extreme pain! This continued on for about the space of

two months.Therapy did not correct the problem. He was led from

specialist to specialist with literally no answers! Every test came

back negative. They had no answers for us.

Diet and supplements are the only answer in my opinion. The correct

supplements, in combination with an all organic diet is the cure. We

have observed this, over and over again.

Best Regards,

JoAnn

I am all for using alternative methods when one can but before

blowing off your doctor, learn more about what your ACL is. It is

not a good tendon to tear. It is not like a sprained or stretched

tendon. The following site has good pictures. Search and read more

on the web.

http://yourmedicalsource.com/library/acltears/ACL_whatis.html

If you look at that site, it is a very small tendon that holds the

tibia to the femur. If you have had a total tear, it will not heal

without surgery as the two pieces that are remaining have no contact

with each other or the bone if the tear is at that point. On a full

tear, they graft another tendon into its place and build you a new

ACL.

This is one you really need an orthopedic specialist for. You have

to have an MRI to confirm but the leg pulls differently when the ACL

has been torn as it is not there holding the bones, so doctors do

not typically misdiagnose on it. I think you can live without the

surgery but not if you ever want to play soccer again or do anything

strenuous with your legs like run.

But maybe the MRI will show that you do not need surgery and then

good diet and supplements can help heal - chromatin glucosamine is

what most atheletes use for joint issues.
