New to Natural / Herbal Medicine

I've been lucky enough to be a healthy person and not need to take

medicine on a regular basis for certain conditions. Such is not the

case with my Mom. The " Doctors " that she has seen over the years

have done nothing but turned her into a pill popper. The drugs that

were supposed to " fix " the problem have, I believe, made her more

ill. I feel that with the many, many medications she is currently on

her body is in fact being poisioned. She has been in the hospital

with kidney problems twice. (I feel due to the over dosing of

medicine she is on) I may be wrong but I don't think so. She also

has many health issues that the doctors have chalked up to her age.

The problem is she is only 67. I feel she is too young to be is this

kind of health and natural medicine is not very popular in this

region of the U.S. (Lower Alabama) So I am turning to the internet

and trying to research on my own to try to find out what I can to

help her. Logically it would seem to me she would need to detox her

liver and take supplement to strengthen her kidney function. Am I on

the right track? What are some good books/magazines to buy and

to for information? Any and all information would be of
