Issue the License of Dr.Jennifer Daniels,MD-enforce the court order

 

 

Hi Activists & Consumers,

Dr.Jenifer Daniels,MD the alternative medical doctor from Syracuse, NY had her

license suspended two years ago when she refused to allow the Office of

Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) to conduct an unlimited search through her

medical records looking for 'something' to distort and use against the doctor.

Dr. Daniels appealed and the Appellate Division 3rd department of NY State

Supreme Court ordered the suspension lto be lifted. This decision was made at

the end of June,2003. To date the medical license has NOT been issued.

 

We cannot allow this case to be buried in bureaucracy to deny medical freedom

and instill fear in all practioners that there is NO WAY TO WIN, even if the

courts say you are right! Technicaly a medical license is issued by the New York

State Department of Higher Education. In this case the Department of Higher

Education states they never received clearance from the Health Department. The

Health Department states it is up to the Higher Education Department. Dr.Daniels

has not been able to obtain compliance with this favorable decision. If OPMC and

the Health Department refuse to comply with an appellate court decision, they

are surely in violation of the laws. Dr.Daniels legslators have not been able to

straighten this out. Dr. Daniels was the Green Part candidate for Lieutenant

Governor in 2002 and has a histoty of political and community activism. Dr.

Daniels is not just another professional who left her community at sunset. She

has initiated the revitalization of an abandoned city

block where she had built an innovative medical practice and nearby home, that

gave the neglected black community of Syracuse choices of holistic care that

would not be available in the community without her. Her dedicated commitment

was recognized by the Mayor of Syracuse in 1993. She received the African

American Heroes in the Syracuse Community Award from the Syracuse Housing

Authority in 1994 and the Women of Distinction Award from Governor Pataki in

1998.

If you live close to NYC Please call Assemblyman Richard Gottfried the Chairman

of NYS Assembly Health Committee and ask that Dr.Daniels appellate court order

be complied with and her license be issued.

If you live upstate call Assemblyman Ron Canestrari, Chairman of the Assembly

Higher Education Committee. He represents the area around Albany,

Troy,Cohoes,Rensaeleer County and Saratoga. His Albany number is 518-455-4474

and ask that Dr.Daniels Court Decision lifting her suspension be honored and the

license issued.

If we allow the state to ignore this decision, we are letting them send an

intimidating message to all the alternative medical doctors who have ventured to

try the more natural medicine that we want as opposed to the allopathic medicine

we fear will be forced on everyone.
