Guest guest
Statin Drugs - Cholesterol lowering? More like Cardiac Crippling! ****************************** " Reducing homocysteine, triglyceride, and C-reactive protein levels is much more important to heart health than worrying about your cholesterol. And the best way to reduce all of those levels is to exercise, maintain a proper body weight, don't smoke, limit alcohol consumption, increase your intake of omega-3 fatty acids, cut out the junk foods in favor of the soluble fiber in fruits and vegetables, and take supplements that are known to protect the heart. " ******************************* The above is great advice but advice the average person never gets from their physician. Actually physicians seem to know this stuff but they assume that their patients will not comply and few stress these factors. When you look at the food that is served in cardiac units in hospitals you start to realize how hopeless it is for any meaningful change for the patient. In my experience with mainstream cardiac patients they not only do not recieve information but they do not want to make the changes anyway. Those that do are the exception and exceptional! You got to realize that non growth people are attracted to non growth physicians and what results is stagnation. By all rights they should have the opportunity to be informed and choose but in our culture if you want information and the freedom to choose you have to go out there and create it for yourself. A further note on statin drugs. In Europe statin drugs come precompounded with CoEnzyme Q10 as those savy Europeans have long realized that good outcome for vascular disease, cardiac failure, diabetes and cancer is a hefty dose of this enzyme. Studies have shown that statin drugs actually impare the body's ability to produce CoEnzyme Q10 so the manufacturers supply it in each dose. You can read the package inserts for some of the statin drugs and it talks about CoEnzyme Q10 but still in the USA the pharmacies are not promoting the compounded formula or heeding the advise in the package inserts.
